But whenever Romero has been in the centre for us it’s been a horror show. See wolves at home for exhibit A.

Romero prefers being in the centre anyway, what about Tomori Romero Hincapie
Good post.Absolutely correct...however, there is someone actually MAKING this short-term decision to appease these voices...and all because of the cumulative effect of previous short-term decisions by this same person...the person you are so often found defending. You see the irony, right?
I know nothing about Porro. If you say he has weaknesses in defense then I'm sure I'm going to hate him as I like players that deal with job #1 of their positional remit. His presence may help Conte's paint-by-numbers football become tolerable/efficient...I doubt it. But your point is also so very valid...this player may become a liability in a future system. But this type of thing is the brainchild of your guy, in this player he sees financial upside and is willing to ok the deal.
People here are just happy to have some tea to quench their thirst...sure, it's diuretic and in the longer term their condition will be more complicated due to this decision but the short term is all they've/we've been left to contemplate. Or are you suggesting that supporters should have longer term visions for things than the chairman does in his actions?
Who played either side of him?But whenever Romero has been in the centre for us it’s been a horror show. See wolves at home for exhibit A.
Ever since
Uh-oh!You can really see who's watched Porro and who hasn't. Some people are in for a rude awakening if he starts against City.
Ill say it again and again when it comes to him. Just focus and be happy on what he can do as opposed to what he can't.
And don't use his transfer fee as a stick to beat him with when it comes to his defensive ability.
This is something about which I've had some disagreement with the hardliners. The diff between you and me is that I am sympathetic to their complaints and if things had to be 1 way or another I'd prefer what they want than defending Levy.
I would have to have a better idea of what you think he thinks that means. But i can assure you, none of his moves since that time you mentioned (2018) looked like 'success in the making' for on-field matters at the time they were made. Most just looked like half-baked appeasement matters.
I'm also starting to think the fake French fellow may be Spursdem/Schmoods/Andy Sinton etc.... He's been letting his mask slip lately.
Yeah, that's been frustrating to some degree but Totti's 'name change' wasn't volitional...he was binned I believe. Presumably, he's running clandestine ops to sniff out Arc's new guise. At least that's what I'm telling myself as to the reasonEver sinceAdmin had the stupid idea of letting people change account names I don’t know who anyone is anymore!! :contefacepalm2:
Great job, John. Well done. The forum commends youWell done I'm also starting to think the fake French fellow may be Spursdem/Schmoods/Andy Sinton etc.... He's been letting his mask slip lately.
I'm keeping a close eye on things

I wasn't around when he was here, but his post count is ridiculous.I’ve missed Totti, genuinely thought he was dead.
No one can escape Tottenham, it’s basically purgatory.
Mourinho and Conte don’t stick around long. They are hired, spend massively, and win over a couple of seasons. Levy was wrong to think that is where we were. This is something about which I've had some disagreement with the hardliners. The diff between you and me is that I am sympathetic to their complaints and if things had to be 1 way or another I'd prefer what they want than defending Levy.
Spending is a marker for ambition...it may not guarantee success but it sure as fuck is more directly proportional to winning than not spending is. You seem to be arguing a matter of degrees with folks on the proverbial other side but going in two-footed. They have a very good point...and the argument that is utilized against it, "spending doesn't guarantee succes", voiced by DL is a disingenuous counter.
My issue is the incompetence in doing it the way he is doing it. If DL was actually competent, and after 20 years of doing something anyone of decent intelligence (and especially someone that likes to think themselves the smartest in the room) should be competent, we wouldn't have had the fuckups that we've had. They were foreseeable...jsut like the xfers of specialist players for Conte might complicate tactical fits with more modern coaches.
