Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We sold shares for the £150m last window , used up £100m remember .

If this Porro thing is true then our owners are beyond a joke
Yeah, we didn't realise that we did that instead of using actual profit and revenue streams to fund it.

Careful though, you'll get disagrees from the fanboys.

That £150m injection should have been on top of a typical transfer budget. A release clause for ONE player (or a better structure) shouldn't have been an issue.

going to bury my head in the sand and refuse to believe it.

Fuck off Ornstein you lying gooner rat.

Also fuck this thread.

Sad Will Ferrell GIF

though to be honest i'd put up with Emerson and Doherty for the rest of the season if we took that 45 mill plus whatever is left and bought a CCB to replace Dier right now.

But of course that wouldnt happen, we'd get Conor Coady on loan with an option to buy for a box of corn flakes

Porro and done it looks like.

Shame we didn't bother doing anything on the CB front but after what's roundly felt like a shitty first half of the season we are in the last 16 of the FA Cup and CL and within touching distance of 4th.

The CBs are an issue but if we can keep Bentancur, Kulu and Romero fit and Porro can hit the ground running then I think we should have a much better second half.

Add to that Richarlison making his mark and hopefully Danjuma adding to his debut contribution and there is a lot to look forward to.

Perhaps Son's brother has finally left the building and we also get a decent showing from him this year.

I don't mean that in a bad way... but in what world are you living in?
It very much sounds like you are forecasting future with both eyes in the rear-view mirror.

ONLY reason we are in "touching distance" of 4th is our first 10 games of the season. Period.
After that we have fallen off the cliff (10 points in 10 games, 21 goals conceded) without any fucking ideas or changes from the braindead "world class manager". Not only that there are no proactive solutions, but even when life throws us some hope and after young players (Gil, Sarr, Skipp) bring some energy and intensity into games (Palace, Portsmouth) then our imposter ACTIVELY reverses those developements in fist possible moment where more "senior" and "famed" players are available.

His "system" is found out and watching this passive jogging on the field is something that make my eyes bleed. Into this system and the way we are set up, you could add number of top players, but one player would still not be aware where others is. Most players would still wait for the ball to arrive, instead of making even 1 step towards the ball to avoid it for being intercepted.

In FA cup we are mostly cause we have played Championship and League One side.
In CL we just super-narrowly avoided dropping out from very medicore group.

I really-really wish you were right, and things would start to click from no on.
But the fish starts rotting from the head. And when your plan A is shit, slow and unimaginative football where you surrender midfield and make every single player except for Kane and Kulu to be afraid to create and attack... then you are fucked unfortunately.

Umm... ?
What?

We did not SOLD SHARES. If shares are sold, shareholders e.g owners change and money will go from future owner to past owner.
We had equity injection. Which meant that existing owners put the money into the club. Without ownership changing. Fundamentally different transactions.

This is the money time. Paratici has 45-70 million to spend, we have glaring holes in our squad, and the window is about to close, if we're not getting Porro I expect for him to help us fill another position we desperately need. Show us you deserve our support you criminal fuck, pull another Kulusveski out of a hat, perferably in CB form this time.
your support is totally unnecessary

I agree, was not that fussed about a wing back as i think the chances of Conte being our manager next season were slim (now close to zero). Invest it elsewhere but the problem you have now is its too late for any selling club to replace the player. Its a story as old as time with this mob. If you piss around all window you leave yourself nowhere to go if a deal goes pear shaped.

Naah, it is clickbait.

Sporting has replacement made ready and this deal will go through.
At worst, they are trying to squeeze some minor detail from us.

Fabrizio has said they changed the terms last minute but that we're in negotiation about it so doesn't sound like it's off to me - just less certain to go through.

Fuck it - I still think this gets done.

A plague upon the house of Sporting!

If you pay someone’s release clause the club have no say in it?
Per Paul O'Keefe Sporting lied regarding the release clause. It was either apparently only valid during the first 12 days of the window, or only activates in the summer. So they've been stringing us along all window to try and get as much money as possible out of the deal.

This is similar to what they did when they sold Bruno in January 2020. They dragged their negotiations with United out all month and only sold him on the 29th, after "cancelling" it on the 28th.
