No, that is what was said in public communication.

Once again, if it would have been 1,9% increase in ownership, then club wouldn't have received 150 mil. Previous owner would. Right now, if you own 10 Tesla shares and I purchase them from you, then Tesla gets 0,0 €/£/$. You would get 10x current market price and I would pay that to you.

So it is not "either way it is 150 mil". It is difference between 0 and 150 mil.
So why did the Spurs press office make a big thing of releasing it & stating that number ?

Oh yeeeeeeee.
That will show the player! He will get such vengance with staying on 3x lower salary.
And on top of that - it will show his current club! He'll never ever demand such kind of fee in the future, and will go for less, but heck how they got this supersweet revenge.

End of sarcasm.
Some people here just make my brain hurt...
Sporting not Porro are pissed off with Levy , of course Porro wants to come . I am saying Sporting stuck it to Levy.
Sporting are sellers , Spurs are buyers , really hope that helps, I even said selling your house to Levy as a metaphor

Hopefully the above has eased your pretend migraine

Because in actual world scenario (equity injection) it is much bigger news than imagined one (sale of extreme minority share). And ofc they made big deal about it - it proved that owners are supporting the club. It puts owners in positive light.

What don't you understand about that?

Why would CLUB press office make a big thing about OWNER getting the money?

Hopefully the above has taken you overly dramatic headache away

But Sporting will not win anything from it either.
Right now they have chance to turn their 8,5 mil EUR into 48 mil EUR.

And we are desperate and fairly rich.

Whenever in the future they would be selling him, they would get less in the process.
So I don't see revenge incentive in this deal. It might be cold and calculated try of pinching some more from us, but not revenge-motivated move.

In other news Weston Mckennie is going to Leeds so that’s another ‘busy’ MF that won’t add to their goal problems…

i know a lot of you want him out but really why would Conte want to stay at this club, its a Clown College, and not a very good one at that. Children's party level clowns

Poch would very very quickly become unhappy with this kinda shambolic display as well. nothing has changed

That might be right , if so Levy is getting Levyied. Personal opinion ENIC have a history of attritional negotiation, for every VDV late window deals there is a catalogue of bad faith negotiations.

Who can forget the conveniently late fax in the Moutinho deal

I agree that this window has been a fuckup.
In well-run and operated club, areas that need significant reinforcement would have been identified months before the window. Or by the start of WC at very LATEST.

Targets should have been lined up, best option picked and contact made well before the window opened.
That is pretty simple and straightforward.
---------------

BUT acting like club would be cheap at this point not to write a blank check is utterly fucking stupid.
Porro was sold for 8,5 mil EUR 8 months ago. Transfermarkt prices him at 25 mil.

He plays a niche position that has no proper place in majority of the teams.
For that position, if figures are correct (48 mil agreed; now demanding for 51?) - it would make him 7th most expensive fullback in the history of the game.
FFS we were massively overpaying as it was before, and funds should have been used elsewhere (CB; CM). He is worth maybe half of that 51 mil, but some extremely desperate folks try to make it look like we are being cheap? Unreal...
City have a buy back clause that they have not invoked.

Sporting Lisbon are reportedly worried that Manchester City will buy back their right-back Pedro Porro.

Porro was sold to the Portuguese giants last summer after spending two seasons on loan at the club. The move was completed for around €8.5m but it is understood that the Blues inserted a buy-back clause of approximately €20m.

Since his permanent move to Lisbon, Porro has been a player in inspired form. Despite being a full-back by trade, the 23-year-old has often been utilised on the right side of midfield for Sporting.

According to 90min, Sporting officials are worried that City will come back in for Porro and sign him either as a player to utilise in their squad or to sell him for a handsome profit. At present, it is suggested that Spurs are willing to offer 37m euros and a player.

So looks like our window will end with Gil out on loan and Danjuma in.

Not exactly a leap forward is it?

Balance sheet looking mighty fine

Announce record revenue figures

If they don’t sign anyone else, and the 2021/22 show numbers arw as I expect, the anti Levy momentum will
Snowball. The media will pick up on it big time and the masses will start to unpick their agenda

I'd say thats a step back. Gil was the only player other than Kulu that could offer a modicum of creativity and he can play off the right. Danjuma is mainly left sided, isnt creative and just offers more of what we had in Son and Richarlison. Plus obviously Gil is our player and Danjuma isnt so its not like that is a great development move either

The main difference between Gil and Danjuma is that Danjuma is 25 and an established player, so Conte will actually play him without needing to have every attacker we have injured, so it's definitely an improvement.
