Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Absolutely brilliant if we get Dragusin in before Friday. Just another reason to take Ange at his word when he says he's getting things done his way.

A winger and centre mid to follow and we're laughing.

Really want Redondo and then send Hojbjerg to juve and bring in iling junior and soule. IJ now and let soule finish out the season with frosinone. Total outlay would be around 75m or so including the dragusin purchase. Totally doable.

Also send Reggie to bvb and tanganga to ac Milan or Napoli. He would do well in serie a.

hmmm deja vu?

If you cast your mind back, Giovanni was on loan and played out of his skin. At that time he was rightly awarded a permanent transfer but soon after that, he fell off a cliff and spent two years out on loan

Now he's back, it feels kind of like we've come full circle

If he was as sure a thing as a massage in Thailand having a happy ending, we should most certainly extend his contract... but... and that's the problem; 'but'

Soule or Gloukh would be my choice for midfield too, not too fussed about winger but would be a wee bit disappointed if it ends up only being Jota, think we need someone with a bit more quality (though I rate Jota).

He's never been this consistent though. It's only a small sample of course, but he's been more effective in these last few games than at any point before.

Even Benta had more G/A 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh no, how are unfortunate, how we will survive this?

Chelsea have reportedly slapped a £60 million price tag on Conor Gallagher this month, which could ultimately price Tottenham Hotspur out of a move.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with a January swoop for Conor Gallagher, with his future at Chelsea looking uncertain.

Gianluca Di Marzio claimed just last week that Spurs have opened talks with the Blues over a move for Gallagher.

Yet, recent reports have suggested that no such talks have taken place just yet.

The 23-year-old’s links to Spurs certainly raised a few eyebrows last week, with Jamie Carragher labelling Chelsea a ‘mess’.

But according to Football Transfers, Tottenham simply won’t be able to afford Gallagher this month.

This is down to Chelsea demanding a £60 million fee to even consider selling the Englishman.

The outlet notes that due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) constraints, Spurs are likely to stall their interest in Gallagher until the summer.

Gallagher has been lauded for his ‘brilliant’ displays in a Chelsea shirt this term. The Englishman has emerged as a standout performer under Pochettino.

Of course, Spurs could be in the market for a midfielder this month, with Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr heading to AFCON 2024.

But a move for Gallagher looks unlikely at this stage unless Chelsea significantly lower their demands.

It would be a shame for Tottenham to miss out on Gallagher given the fact they need reinforcements in midfield. The Chelsea star also seems like a perfect fit for Ange Postecoglou’s high-energy brand of football.

Nevertheless, there are other options Spurs could explore should they miss out on Gallagher, with Kalvin Phillips also said to be a target.

Haha. No, no and er... no.

£60 million gets you world-class. We should be spending that on a winger. when fit, we've got Rod, Biss GLC and Madders. While we could do with cover, obvs, we've got Hoj and probably Alex Scott coming through (*cough*).

Kalvin Philips seems over-rated and about the same level as CG at around the same price, maybe cheaper.

Sarr and Biss will only be gone until mid Feb if both teams go all the way to the final. It's likely Biss will return sooner.

We also have Maddison due back in Jan so by early Feb we should have:

Biss
(Skipp)
Bentancur ---- Maddison
(GLC) ---- (Kulu)
That is plenty to navigate the 3 games (max) until Sarr's return.
It rare that players come straight back to play for their clubs after tournaments, as they generally have at least a week's break. Though Côte d'Ivoire is no longer the force they used to be they can still reach far - but that's purely speculation from both sides.
And with Perisic, Solomon and Son out Spurs only have Johnson, Veliz, Richarlison and Gil up front in January if Kulu plays in CM.

It should get you world class. Our two £60m ish signings ... Richie and Ndombele (not meaning to slur Richie here as he's levels about Tanguy, but all the same).

Crazy if we pay 60m for Gallagher. Tbh dont rate him. Id rather we keep Hoijberg until end of season then sell him. Hoijberg is a good sub to come on to shore things up with 20 mins to go.

If we spend £60m on Gallagher then we deserve to be relegated.

This season he's been excellent.
No come on mate he hasn't been excellent. He's been good on occasion average and on others crap. There's a huge amount of recency bias with this bloke what does he do. Is he just easy on the eye. The moment you get par out of him people start gushing. Maddison has been excellent as has Vic this bloke is not making any teams of the season. I agree fully with Shadydan Shadydan he is needed and doing a job (well of late ) but a summer sale makes way too my sense. He will break soon enough sell whilst the stock is high.
