Oh yes to fill a depleted squad.

But do we push the button on a rice when we are within touching distance of a title

If either group are gaslighting it's the ones supporting a regime that has led to 0 trophies since 2008, after cycling through many managers, insisting that "this cycle is different"

Right now we are just in a similar position to where we were on the upward curve with poch. There is no evidence to say we are taking a step beyond into being odds on to win a title

You can add to that, "The upward curve of Jose and The upward curve of Conte". They both had us in spitting distance of the Top of the log but weren't backed with players they wanted.

I ask these nut heads again. Do you truly believe Werner, based on what you know not think could be, is any better than Richie.

The honest answer should be No. He was warming Leipzig's bench after all. Most were slagging Richie, and now they having Orgasms because we have Werner who could potentially be......

Fair points, but in some close matches we may rue missed chances; I'm really hoping one of Johnson or Werner can regularly find the back of the net.

Don't disagree but the fact we've been scoring just over 2 goals a game in our first 20 matches - without Maddison for half those games and Richarlison misfiring for first 10/15 games - means I think we should be able to maintain that average for the rest of the season, and if Johnson and Werner more regularly finding back of the net we should increase our average goals game with luck.

OP was to answer a poster nervous about our goalscoring given we have had only one, son, who was regularly scoring.

Looking good if Werner and Dragu are wrapped up by Monday.

CB looking fine for Jan. Dragu and VDV in for United. Romero back in a couple weeks.

Werner providing much needed competition/cover while Son is away. I get the feeling he might surprise a few on here.

Also leaves the rest of the window to add something extra. Although tbh I don't see which position needs immediate strengthening.

I think the summer will be about adding a top class forward once we sort out the Gil, Solomon, Werner situation. Not clear if any of them make the cut and with Son getting on we need our next star attacker to emerge.

Probably also need better cover for Udogie. Otherwise we are in pretty good nick.

Werner may not be ideal but...fits the system, has pace, can cover for son (over the current inadequates such as gil), is cheap, may surprise us and is better than nothing
Also has Prem league experience, knows London and speaks the language. I can’t see any alternative out there that ticks so many boxes. No transfer is a cert but on this I feel he may just settle in ok.

Maybe a bit before the time of most but doesn't come close to this season.

One of my most treasured possessions is the 12" single for that record. It's signed by players from the 86/87 team and was a very lucky find in a charity shop. It went under the radar because all the signatures are in biro on a dark blue record sleeve and was most likely dismissed by the shop staff as childish scribble but I saw it and was able to decipher Mitchell Thomas and Gary Stevens. I can't read most of the signatures but it's a fair assumption that most of them are there.

I was only 6 at the time of the 1987 FA Cup Final but the legend of the 86/87 team and the other great teams of the club's history are all part of what I love about the club.

whilst Spurs finances are generally in good shape with low interest bonds with long term capital repayment of bonds (although first repayment in about 5 years time), not materially affecting cash flow as we only pay interest, reality is we have needed to be clever with the deals we do to get the quantity and quality of players we need all the way up to and including today.
Looking at Swiss Ramble’s breakdown of EPL transfer liabilities before the summer window, we’re right up at the top (or close to the top) of the table.
With a net expenditure of €50-€120m — I’m not sure if Porro/Kulu were included in the Swiss Ramble table so I don’t want to include them again — that isn’t likely to change.

We’ve clearly backloaded our deals over the last few years probably with the assumption that the stadium will produce even greater revenue. Naming fucking rights would be nice about now!

The biggest problem is our lack of creativity in the final third I think, Johnsons offers nothing creativity wise, Son when played as LW offers too little too, Richie is a passanger, can barely control the ball. Werner at least can run past players on the left and that's much more than we had until now.
Shane we spent so much on Johnson. MGW would have been better.
