Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The Rodon and Tanganga shouts I keep seeing on social media make me sick. Ange keeps talking about how the club needs fresh change and you still have so many people that want them back.

They both failed to impress under like 4 or 5 managers and all of a sudden a player who can’t get into Augsburg’s team or a player who hasn’t performed above Championship level should be recalled and in our squad in January 🤦‍♂️ ridiculous

definitely need to get a midfielder in as soon as the window opens, 2 if Hojbjerg was to leave.

Having to play the old Skipp and Hojbjerg combo in midfield for a whole month in the new year is really haunting

We shouldn’t need to PEH plus gio and kulu for a few games.

No point but g these young players if they never get a chance. I was listening to some other transfer gossip of young players from abroad. I’m thinking we have a bunch top quality young players coming through our own club why not give them a chance first. If we are gonna buy young players from other clubs what is the point of developing our own. I bet dorrington felt great when he heard we were buying Phillips. Who played about 8 game minutes all last season. He prbly sees his pathway blocked especially knowing we are likely to buy another CB who’ll be ahead of him in the q. V villa Ange could have given donley minutes when he took off Gil. Instead he brings on skipp. Ffs give these guys a chance. They certainly would get the fans more excited than keep playing the same old players.

Wharton kid looks pure Ange ball.

How long would it take them to hack his ankles to bits if we signed him?

Can play as a 6, 8 or 10, but recently more as a 6.

Good passing and dribbling, decent tackling, left footed but comfortable with both feet tends to keep to centre. Box to box, comfortable at both defending and attacking.

E u19 has made circa 40 appearances including 30 starts, and now considered a regular for the Championship side (so many more appearances than Phillips).

DoB 2 June 2004 so aged 19 now.

Probably experienced enough to play immediately, certainly as a bench option maybe as a starter sometimes. Reputedly being chased by Liverpool, Woolwich etc, If we bid, our previous dealings with them over Ashley Phillips may help.

Would be a good addition to the squad as an u21, different to Alfie Devine (also born 2004) who is more an attacking no 10.

Small bit of Declan Rice (blurgh) about him from those few clips…

Looks a really good prospect for sure but we must remember, Harry Winks has been bossing it from the same position in the Championship and Skipp would have a similar highlight real if he was playing there. You cannot underestimate the extra time you have in midfield.

Ive only watched that Youtube, but he looks much more tight press resistant than Rice and more fluid on the ball.

Wasn't that a bit of a contentious transfer?

Not because of anything we did....... The beef was essentially between him & B'burn.

Cant remember the exact details, but he had some sort of renewal clause that they missed that meant he could be bought for 2m; and they tried to block him and get more money..... At one point it sounded like we were gonna give them a few extra quid to keep them sweet but I dunno if that ever happened.

I remember now, we never paid the extra money. They're not the most rational bunch, I imagine they'll pull an Everton and blame us for their own bullshit.
