Looks like without doing much, we are going to have a full squad again - we named a full 25 man squad at the end of the summer including Lloris who has just left and his now vacant squad place will hopefully be taken by Dragusin or other incoming CB.

To accommodate the returning Reguilon, we have to hope that Perisic has given up hope on an early return from injury and will move on or hope Dier moves on.

But that still gives us these options at LB and LCB :

Left Back - Udogie, Davies (also covers LCB), Sessegnon (likely back for 2nd half of season), Reguilon, (also cover provided by Emerson)

Left Centre Back - Van de Ven, Dragusin (or other incoming CB), Davies (also covers LB),

So whilst some welcome back Reguilon, the practical issue is that Sessegnon has not been fit enough to play in first half of season, and so is not able to be loaned out, and it would be folly to loan out Davies who is good cover at LCB and LB ........ so I can see Reguilon being off on his travels again as we will not have squad places spare

If we didn't get bentancur back, then it wouldve been vital to get a CM in just as fast as a CB. Bentancur coming back gives us time to not rush that acquisition.

Radu in this week. Go get main target CM, and get 1 or 2 young studs bought and loaned back. Paratici creeping for kids on the cheap, and i love it.

Here’s the bellend’s article. Nothing new though.

Fabio Paratici will continue to assist Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, despite the arrivals of Scott Munn as chief football officer and sporting director Johanne Lange.

Head coach Ange Postecoglou ideally wants a new centre-back, a winger and a midfielder, while Spurs will also look to offload some players this month.

Paratici resigned from his job as managing director of football last April after being banned from working within football for his role in alleged false accounting at his former club Juventus.

But the Italian was able to continue to advise Tottenham on a consultancy basis during last summer’s transfer window, before Munn and Lange had started in their jobs, after elements of Paratici’s ban were lifted.

It is understood that Paratici has been used on an ad-hoc consultancy basis when required by Tottenham and that he will continue to be so during the January transfer window.

His assistance is said to have no impact on Munn’s position at the club and Paratici liaises with Lange over Tottenham’s transfer targets and outgoing business.

Lange arrived at Tottenham as the club’s sporting director last October, while Munn officially started in his role, overseeing Spurs’ football operation, towards the end of September after his start date was delayed.

Rob Mackenzie has also rejoined the club as chief scout since Parartici’s resignation after Leonardo Gabbanini, who was hired by Paratici, was sacked.

Since resigning from his position, Paratici has continued to be a regular visitor at Tottenham matches and often watches from one of the plush corporate boxes inside the stadium. He has also visited away games this season.

Paratici was credited as being the driving force behind Tottenham’s signing of left-back Destiny Udogie, who has been one of the club’s star performers during the first half of the season after spending a campaign on loan in Italy.

Tottenham have also had recent success in the Italian market by signing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli and are in negotiations with Genoa over a deal to try to sign central defender Radu Dragusin this month.

Midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, who is in line for a new contract and has been a revelation under Postecoglou, is another player whose signing from French club Metz was strongly influenced by Paratici.

Paratici’s former club Juventus are among the clubs who have taken an interest in Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbejrg. Should they sell Hojbjerg, then Spurs could rekindle their interest in Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

Sergio Reguilon is returning to Tottenham after Manchester United activated a break clause in his loan deal.

The Spain international joined United late in the summer transfer window following injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

United originally looked at signing Marcu Cucurella on a temporary basis in their search for cover at left-back, but his appearance for the Blues in the Carabao Cup put paid to that idea.

Erik ten Hag subsequently sanctioned a move for Reguilon, who made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils during the opening half of a difficult campaign.

With Shaw and Malacia closing in on making their returns, however, United have decided to send the 27-year-old back to his parent club.

Regarding PEH - well, that would sound like a fair deal.

Regarding GLC - he mostly covers our medical department beds, so that is pointless comparsion. Even in this season he has been more unavailable more than once.

Combined - if we get 20+10 mil for the pair, then how would adding another 15 mil be out of budget? And 45 mil EUR can get you pretty good player.

Interestingly on Red Cafe, which I checked on a few occasions, ManU fans were pretty positive on Reguilon making him MoTM several times saying he was one of the few players in several matches who seemed to care a 'wotsit' and put the effort in.

I think the ManU issue is they have a lot of average players in their squad, often on big contracts, and whilst it makes sense for them to sign Reguilon, they cannot move on some of their average players and want to fill the place Reguilon was occupying with a 'top player' eg Topsiba who they hope will move from Nice to them once Ratcliffe's deal goes through (Ratcliffe largest shareholder in Nice)

Dier - yes, also wheels are in the motion.

PEH - it is your personal and laughable agenda that everyone else stopped taking seriously like at least year ago.

As I wrote - it would be efficient to move PEH on just because he is losing value, but from pure ability and importance side - he is very much part of this squad. Just in last game his involvement helped us score extremely vital 2nd goal. We have won 4 of last 5 games and PEH has played between 17-90 minutes in all of them.
