Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They know the player wants to go there so they can take their time I guess.

Do they? based on what?

This weekends game doesn't matter, they will have him for the rest of the season

Sure but still doesn't explain why they would just sit about whilst another club has agreed a fee on a player they want. If we hear today they have agreed a loan deal with Bayern then they have clearly decided to gamble on PSR and hope something shakes out with Rashford. If nothing comes from it by the evening, Tel will be flying to London to have a medical with us tonight is my guess.

Look at the clubs they joined from. Maddison came form relegated Leicester. Porro Sporting. Neither were pulling up trees.

Romero came from Atalanta when he was just a highly promising 21 year old. What Romero needed was to play week in, week out for a club in the top 4 of EPL or La Liga, and play in the CL, which he has done for us. He would not have played regularly at Liverpool , Bayern, Barcelona etc. But he has always been destined for someone like Real Madrid by the time he is 26/27.

We are a proven to be a great stepping stone club for the best young players with massive potential.
  1. Modric (left us at 25, then won 28 major trophies, inc six CLs, 6 Club World Cups, 5 European Super Cups, 4 LaLiga titles, 2 Copas del Rey and 5 Spanish Super Cups.
  2. Walker (left us at 26, then won 17 major trophies, inc. six PL titles and the CL)
  3. Bale (left us at 24, then won 19 major trophies , inc. five CLs and 3 La Liga titles)
  4. Carrick (left us at 25, then won 9 major trophies inc. five PLs, the CL, the EL and multiple FA cups)
  5. Berbatov (left us at 27, then won 2 PL titles, and the league cup)

I bet Kane wishes he'd left us when he was 26/27 as well with hindsight.

Tel should be thinking he can join us for 2-3 seasons and then get a mega move to a club that actually wins titles.

Feel sorry for Kane, shows you loyalty to this club is a complete waste of time

It's going to drag out to deadline day with him then choosing United or Woolwich on loan.

Honestly, move on now. If he needs convincing then he isn't the right guy. He'll act like he's doing us a favour. We can't get to Monday with no concrete signings in and panicking around bargain bins to find a loan.
Yep as much as I want him in, they’ve got to want us otherwise what’s the point!

If we’re that hard a sell, jog on! We need players that will give it all.

(Still hoping it’s media BS and he chooses us! 😁 )

sure but UTD haven't agreed that loan deal with Bayern. Why wouldn't they have got that done as soon as they found out we are also talking to Bayern?

There's nothing to negotiate......

Basically; "Pay his wages and he's yours for 6 months"

....Perhaps that much has been spoken about already? .....I'm not in Man U's news feed.

Regardless, without an exit at Man U's end; I don't think (roughly 85kpw) stands in their way; whereas 50m + payhike probably will.

As much as I think he ends up here because UTD can't shift Garnacho and Rahsford.

I agree with this and Gatsby Gatsby . Tel is a talent but he can fuck off if he wants to drag it out past today.

He's a player that needs to develop a lot and figure out what he actually is. We could get a lot more out of bringing a more experienced player for the right now. Fuck it, go and get Bakayoko from PSV, play Kulusevski or Scarlett as a #9 if you need to and play Bakayoko RW. Odobert will be back soon to play LW.

You feel sorry for a guy who CHOSE to sign a 200k-a-week 6 year deal?

Seriously what planet are some of you on feeling sorry for grown men living their dreams making more money than you or i could eve dream about?

No one forced him to sign that deal, no one at all.

Let's face it, if Tel would rather go elsewhere there is no way he passes the Ange phone call test. And if we do end up singing him despite that then it is a player Levy is forcing on Ange to make himself look good.

Reckon Bayern would want a loan fee as well.

But again, if there is nothing to negotiate and the player only wants UTD, why isn't he already holding a UTD shirt up for photos?
