Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham was an interesting listen. Both seemed astonished that at least one player was not ready to come in on 1 January.

Also felt that the club has no intention of bringing anyone back from loan, which is telling in itself.

With 2 games in the next 5 days, and a squad so severely depleted in key places, it’s beyond ineptitude and has to be deliberate disregard.

I now fully expect Ange to carry the can for the semi final debacle on Wednesday and then he will be gone.
I'm astonished we didn't have 8 players ready to come in on January 1st!

On the other hand, i've been in that same mode for a couple of windows now.

And if i'm guessing, i will be in the same mode a couple more windows!

Gold asked Postecoglou if he needs a busier Spurs transfer window than 12 months ago:

"No, I just want it to be a positive one; that's the main thing. It's not about being busy; it's about being positive because the situation we're in at the moment is temporary. We'll get players back, and God willing, with a bit of luck, we'll keep them back and do the right things, and we'll be strong from then on.

We just need it to be a positive window where we've got to be disciplined and make sure the ones we can bring in are not only going to fit in with our playing style but also culturally and are coming here for the right reasons. I still think that's important."

We'll get players back and god willing, with a bit of luck, we'll keep them back and do the right things and we'll be strong from then on.

So we just need it to be a positive window where like I said, that's where we've got to be disciplined and make sure the ones we can bring in are niot only going to fit in with our playing style, but also culturally and are coming here for the right reasons, I still think that's important."

Not panicking in the middle of a crisis is a virtue for sure…

But why did they need to panic to get players in early?

I know that there are rules about tapping up etc, but I’m pretty sure these aren’t taken that seriously.

Are our recruitment team talking to agents, clubs and players throughout the year? I’d have thought so. I’d assume we’d have a list of candidates for every position on the field at any one time. I’ve been in managers offices at a few Scottish clubs and they’ve had these lists on a whiteboard on the wall. Just makes sense.

Unless our guys are being sticklers for the rules and only swinging into action once the window opens, there’s no reason why we can’t have players ready to come in the second the window opens.

I could see Levy being the type to demand they play strictly by the rules but if they aren’t talking to players and agents all season then it’s naked negligence.

Panic over guys... the first signing is in...
Tottenham have signed Denmark midfielder Olivia Holdt on a contract running until June 2027. The 23-year-old joins from FC Rosengard in Sweden where she scored 25 goals in 39 appearances.
At this point, Levy is 100% taking the piss out of us!!!
