To me he is overrated. Nobody was even talking about him until Lee Carsley called him up and everyone got excited that England have a new midfielder. He became the shiny new toy that everyone talked up. He's 24 and doing well for lille. Does that mean he'll be a hit in the prem? I'm not sure. He's very lightweight and not exactly the profile we need.
He isn't a physical box to box so he solves none of our problems. I don't think he'd start over Bentancur and I'm not sure he would play beside him. Bergval and Gray could easily pass him out next year. He'd be an upgrade on Bissouma and Sarr but Sarr is younger than him and has a more physical profile so Sarr could still be more important for us.
Thats just my opinion on him. I might be wrong. If we get him for free then great but he solves none of our issues and would not be a guaranteed starter.
There was no direct quotes (as players are not allowed to comment on transfer rumours) but several social media was saying so. Whether it's true or not is up to each individual to believe but I have no doubts that he much rather join Juve over Spurs seeing all the mess at Spurs.
Yeah its frustrating because it seems like our recruitment model is just bringing in the same profiles that don't solve any of our issues. I don't think throwing Angel Gomes into our midfield next to Bentancur and Maddison resolves anything. If anything it'll just make us more flashy and better on the ball but even lighter, softer and weaker off the ball!Exactly, we need a DM who is comfortable receiving the ball facing our goal that is able to turn and distribute quickly and accurately, and who reads the game well enough to break up play as other teams are breaking and in front of of area.
Bissouma has that profile but is waaaay too inconsistent and his passing is not at a good enough level to break the press.
Gomes isn't he profile we should be looking at anyway, we need a monster who wins his duels especially in that area...too many teams find it way too easy to play through us and dribble through us.
Not really bought into the Iraola hype. Not yet anyway. I rate him but we should be aiming to win things. Let’s just see how his season ends up before getting carried away.

Unless they want to play him #10?
Really don’t see him working as 6 or 8 in the PL
Unless he's a complete flop. He's definitely not good enough for a top 6 side at this point. If we aim to be there, we can't spend big on complete unknowns.I suspect any fee would be dependent on certain factors, such as appearances, England caps etc, so doubt it would be as high as reported unless all markers were hit, in which case we vwould have no complaints.
His career as a footballer ended when his advisors tried to make him.into a poor man's bob geldof...a you'd have to be stone bonkers at the minute to cover his £350 k a week wagesRashford out of favour at United - I'd be all over a loan with option to buy in the summer.
Mate, no jest.
We will all feel like sh!t if that happens. At least I know I would.
There us no coherent explanation for what we are witnessing.
And a massive leap of faith that even if our players return to some semblance of fitness, this ramshackle coach can get a tune out of them.
And left to reliance on the players' professionalism and pride, we might as well pack up.
When we get to 37 points or mathematical certainty I might allow myself a chortle.
BJ is Welsh....Per 90 mins:
xG 0.16
xA 0.08
I'm not the biggest xG / xA fan but it does show something. I wouldn't pay top dollars for an attacker with those stats.
Esp not an 18 yo. From that age, there's absolutely no guarantee that the player will come good. Many of his peers will most definitely catch up. A lot has to do with biological age. 10 m, OK. But I see numbers like 50m. I don't know if it's true or just baseless rumours, but spending that kind of money on him is CRAZY.
But I'm sure that it's the kind of shit that the Aussies will do. Because they don't have to face any questions until in a few years. For now they will just say, he is young and will come good in 1-2 years. And by the time we realize that he's a flop, they'll be gone from the club anyway.
Don't spend money on overrated English kids. Been there, done that. They almost always fail. BJ, Grealish...
The good English players we had we got for peanuts. Kane coming through the club but also Dele, Dier, Rose, Walker.. We didn't pay top dollars for them. The kids that are hyped never turn out good.
Gordon and Palmer. Yes, they were outstanding. You can't compare Dibling with either of them. He's so unproven.

Chelski were also interested in Muani but they quickly pulled out...
The last thing we need is another temperamental player who turns up when he fancies it.Rashford out of favour at United - I'd be all over a loan with option to buy in the summer.
