I'm not the biggest xG / xA fan but it does show something. I wouldn't pay top dollars for an attacker with those stats.

Esp not an 18 yo. From that age, there's absolutely no guarantee that the player will come good. Many of his peers will most definitely catch up. A lot has to do with biological age. 10 m, OK. But I see numbers like 50m. I don't know if it's true or just baseless rumours, but spending that kind of money on him is CRAZY.

But I'm sure that it's the kind of shit that the Aussies will do. Because they don't have to face any questions until in a few years. For now they will just say, he is young and will come good in 1-2 years. And by the time we realize that he's a flop, they'll be gone from the club anyway.

Don't spend money on overrated English kids. Been there, done that. They almost always fail. BJ, Grealish...

The good English players we had we got for peanuts. Kane coming through the club but also Dele, Dier, Rose, Walker.. We didn't pay top dollars for them. The kids that are hyped never turn out good.

Gordon and Palmer. Yes, they were outstanding. You can't compare Dibling with either of them. He's so unproven.
nope, he’s definitely going to be a very good player. You can tell that by the way takes the ball. Plays on the turn, knows where the space is. He’s already very difficult to get off the ball. Don’t know if he’ll end up playing wide right or more in field but he’s going to be a good player. He’s better than Gray imo and he was 40.

Yeah its frustrating because it seems like our recruitment model is just bringing in the same profiles that don't solve any of our issues. I don't think throwing Angel Gomes into our midfield next to Bentancur and Maddison resolves anything. If anything it'll just make us more flashy and better on the ball but even lighter, softer and weaker off the ball!

I think Gray is the long-term player for that position... he seems to have it all TBF - it's just a shame Bissouma hasn't stepped up and provided us with a consistent player in that area - he has the tools, I just don't think he has the drive or temperament.

This is a Levy masterclass. I've figured it out.

He's waiting until the absolute last minute before opening the war chest.
Except this time it's not to save a few quid. It's so the expensive new world class players spend the least amount of time possible with Ange, who he will sacked after we get tonked by Liverpool.

If we'd have signed 5 players in the first week of January, they'd all be knackered, injured and had the talent coached clean out of them by now.

This is a repeated problem with Rashford.
This is a year old. Sounds like its been knocked in the head if there hasn't been any issues in 12 months.

A loan is a risk free option. We need forwards. If it doesn't work out, he goes back.

Based on the fact that his focus has shifted away from football too much to the point where United are trying to offload him literally anywhere. This is a home grown player who should be in his prime for them. He was pushing Harry Kane in the England team. He's lost his way big time. The Belfast thing wasn't a one off.
If he was in his prime for them, we wouldn't have a chance lol its low risk, high reward as far as I can see.

Doesn't work, he gets sent back. I could also see United covering some of his wages.

You should start writing some fan fiction - maybe a graphic novel, you have an eye for a great story!

I've always stuck to this opinion and I always will. No club is too good to go down, but they don't have to just accept it.
West Ham, Newcastle and Villa were all too big and too good but sticking with appalling managers sent them down. In all 3 cases the squad was easily good enough to stay up, but absolute cowboys at the helm sent them down.
In the 90's and prior, coaches would usually walk when it wasn't working. It was for the best of the football club that they left. Now, because of the financial benefit of being sacked, these absolute monsters will dig in and happily take a team down rather than walk and forfeit their payoff.

I always thought Levy was wise enough to see the danger and sack them when needed. I don't actually have too much of a problem with a lot of them over the years.
This time he seems to have lost his fucking marbles. We're about to make the "2 points from 8 games" look decent.

Send your post to Levy. It's brilliant.

The whole thing is that he isn't in his prime, he's dropped many levels below that. Talent still there but the focus has gone. He isn't what we need at the moment. We have enough forwards who faff around up front not making any real impact.

United are desperate to get him out and we should be very wary indeed.
