Player Josh Keeley

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The problem for Keeley is that while he needs to be more than an understudy, he will never count as club-trained for Tottenham in European competition, having arrived from Irish side St Pat's as a 19-year-old on July 1 , 2022,

There was talk of a permanent move for Keeley last summer, with plenty of clubs interested, but now after this season to remember that could change unless a major offer comes in.

With a contract until 2027, Spurs are likely to look to improve the Irishman's deal and extend it, knowing that either they can get more money for him in the future as he continues to impress or he potentially could still make his mark at Spurs if something unexpected happens to the current options.

The management of the keepers is three stooge levels.
it is but not the Keeley situation. Or at least not yet.

It was garbage with Forster as first reserve. And it's cost 11m to sort that bit of shit.

Far too early to say whether or not he'll ever play for us.

He's 21.

Next up maybe a loan to a champo club. See how that goes, maybe 23 when that's over.

Still very young in keeper years.

It's not like the 1960's when he might have been our Pat Jennings and able to be first team for 20 years or so. We're the 8th richest club in the world and so the top 10 world keepers are our level. And it would be great if Josh managed it.

Anyone who genuinely thinks that Levy Lange and Ange are strategic super brains spinning plates as they promise Jam tomorrow is an idiot. The management of the keepers is three stooge levels.

Agree - it's proof they are at best negligent.
Forster was always a low level back up.
Then they signed a 21 year old to go straight into the first team.
Yang was deemed not ready ( possibly or possibly not) true so he went out on loan.

There was a minimal risk in keeping him and putting him on for 15 minutes at the end of the game . But fair enough. He is playing at QPR.

But of the two- Kinsky if signed for the future - should have been the one to go out on loan - let him learn his trade and make mistakes somewhere else.
Goalkeeper is too important and brutal to take unnecessary chances with.

Knowing our management team - they will have learned nothing - and Kinsky will be number two at the start of next season.

These are the sort of mistakes that add up and have contributed to our lack of success under Levy.

Just how often has a club awarded 'Goal of the Season' to... a goalkeeper ! :wall: :wall:

A hugely impressive loan for Josh, so three awards !. Lots of clean sheets helping Orient into play offs

Can never be a List B or CT player so I think we loan him to a club in a higher rated league than L1, and re-assess summer 2026 as to whether Spurs can fit him into the squad as an overseas player ...... based upon his performances next season which if they are as good as this season in L1 he might just be good enough !

Nailed these loans didn't we.
I'm sure Leyton Orient had high expectations of Josh (after a great loan at Barnet then NL) and Jamie after a great year in Spurs u21's playing youth football in PL2, but they must have been weeping tears of sheer joy and almost incredulity in the 2nd half of the season as both players excelled.

And THAT goal against Pep's Man City must have given both Jamie and Orient so many more name checks on the day than Orient have probably ever had before.

If EFL had an award for L1 Loan Player of the year, Orient would have had 2 outstanding candidates, more than any other club. These loans were a hit in every possible way, and getting into playoffs was a pipedream for Orient at start of season, now its going to be part of their history win or lose (and we obviously hope for a win).

Great loan for him. I might sound like a broken record on this but I wish we'd give our HG keepers a chance as 2nd choice rather than spending millions on transfer fees and wages for guys that barely play a first team game... I get it if you're a team that genuinely is up for all the top prizes and you have two "money" keepers but we definitely arent in that bracket any more. Austin came in when he had to because of Vic's injury and did great, his reward was for the club to spunk millions on Kinsky. Unless Kinsky is Vic's replacement for the upcoming season...

Really mad to even think of it like this.

So he's a 21 yo goalkeeper, that even some Spurs fans most likely do not know.
He is loaned to League One club.

Does not play a minute within first 10 rounds of the season (first 3 still with Spurs reserves, in League One since 4th round, first 7 games not in squad / on bench).

And then for next 36 games plays every minute of every game, has 16 (!) clean sheets and concedes overall just 34 goals (less then 1 per game) (!).

But the MAIN heroics comes in FA Cup.
First round - goes to penalties. Boreham "wins" the cointoss, so can start first. Keeley saves first kick !! So puts all other takers under immense pressure. They can't cope and Leyton through!
Second round - Leyton basically eliminated. 99th minutes on the clock. 0:1 behind vs Oldham. Leyton has free kick. Keeley sprints forward, meets the ball, scores and keeps Leyton alive. They go through with 120th minute goal (!)
Third round - game ends in draw. Goes to penalties. First 5 takers from both sides take their chance. Keeley steps up and saves 6th. Leyton going through.

As a reward get to play ManCity!

So Donley might have scored/made that goal, but pretty clear that without Keeley Leyton and Donley wouldn't have made it there. Really impressive.

Keeley called up to the Ireland Senior squad for the 1st time! 🧤
