Do we need to take Scott Parker seriously?
No links, but can't help but notice that Burnley are on a 21 game unbeaten run and have only conceded 9 goals ALL season.
The next lowest is Leeds with 20 goals.

Lol you don't think getting promoted and keeping Raya Vallecano in la liga is higher achievement than...managing a team in Japan or Scotland ( and I put them in order of magnitude by the way) luckily we don't have to make that judgement as it exists already. Facts matter. I know we factually hired the least qualified coach we have ever had, but its very zeigest to have alternative facts. But yes managing successfully in La liga is far far far more important. Ange who is 20 years older has achieved less at the point of comparison.

It's mental that people keep citing his "achievements" in absolute joke leagues.

If we employed a non league coach who has won multiple paint trophies, would people be so supportive?

It may not be as crazy as you think ; they’ve gone 12 ( twelve) games without conceding a goal ( 2 games off the EPL record) and whilst the folk at Turf Moor aren’t always hyper-appreciative of the football on offer from an entertainment point of view
( personal correspondence) ; IF Scott Parker and Ange could job-share ( ? ). ; either every other game / day .

Then that just might be the lightning in a bottle that we’ve all been waiting for .

PS : I’m being absolutely serious.

If Fulham beat Spurs I can see Levy appointing Marco Silva if it gets him out of a tight spot. Wouldn't be suprised if he has already been approached.

He has managed loads of Premier League games and probably deserves another crack at a bigger club.

Not sure if he will do a better job than Ange in the long term but he is a good coach.
Not good enough for me Silva. Just lost to palace at home ffs. Was a disaster at everton. Just think hes not good enough for us. Iraola next season for me. Poch 2026 after world cup if iraola fails. Wondering actually who's the best Argentinan boss atm bar poch. Should be looking into that.

We lost to them away.
Everyone has been a disaster at Everton for years. Moyes has taken over post sale.
I prefer Iraola, but Silva is an upgrade on Ange IMO.

Nowhere near enough room in the dugout for 2 coaches and their egos.

It's been done before as well, don't forget.

On Parker, genuinely can't assess it. Did you see the highlights of Burnley Sheffield? Lol mate how they kept a cleansheet started to look like actual magic. 🤣 it's was baffling
I didn't no.
Perhaps it's a pride thing. It may all look a little desperate but players want to keep a record going and will go to extreme lengths to get it.
Maybe if we could keep 3 or 4 clean sheets in a row, players would be less inclined to leave gaping holes all over the pitch every week.

The next lowest is Leeds with 20 goals.
The Burnley unbeaten run now spans 29 games and has them in the automatic promotion positions.
In that 29 game unbeaten run, they have conceded SIX goals.
88 points from 42 games is 2.1ppg
They've only lost twice all season and conceded only 13 goals in those 42 games.
His loss ratios everywhere are lower than Ange's. The worst is Fulham at 40%
Unless something spectacular goes wrong, this will be his 3rd promotion - each at the first attempt - with 3 different clubs.

IMO, the championship is a sterner test for a manager than Scotland, Japan and fucking Australia.

Is he the best manager available? No
Is he potentially, at 44, a candidate who could grow himself as he improves the team? I think so, yes. He's also English and an ex Spur himself. He knows the club and the fans.

I honestly would be happier with Scotty Parker than Frank,Silva or Iraola. British managers need a chance to prove themselves. What’s Iraola done to deserve the Tottenham job. Silva hasn’t set the world on fire in the premier league. Frank has done well with Brentford and I actually like the way he talks but Scotty Parker is an ex player and know what the club is all about. I’m not saying he should be our first choice but I don’t think it’s a bad idea.

There have always been managers that are good at getting teams promoted but then bomb in the prem, Neil Warnock and Daniel Farke spring to mind. The same happened for Parker at Fulham and Bournemouth. He was also appalling at Bruges. I also saw earlier in the season Burnley fans complaining at how boring they were and the attrition football (Burnley fans!) .

I was going to say the same.

He always does well in the championship but struggles in the premier league, which is no good for us

Unless we have aspirations of playing in the championship

Looks like Carlo Ancelotti’s days at Madrid are numbered. Does anyone think there is a chance we could get him?
I suppose Levy could give him a call and say, "Hey Carlo, fancy ending your career permanently and ruining your reputation for good?" and Ancelotti might say, "I thought you'd never ask."?

...but that applies to any potential manager, doesn't it?

At least Poch knows what to expect, but he's not on the comprehensive list above.

Just maybe he’s learning from mistakes and could become a very good manager in the premier league now. Every manager will have an element of risk about them. I really don’t know who we should go for.

As long as we don’t start next season with Ange!!

Needs Poch in the vote.

I went Iraola months ago but now I’ve no idea. I think lots will turn us down and we’ll have to go for someone like McKenna. I think mid table beckons for us next season at best at the moment. There’s a lack of available manager talent. After next summer Poch and even potentially Tuchel will be available.

He had 12 games at Bruge and lost 4, so his loss ratio was 30%
Ange currently stands at 42% overall for us. This season in the PL alone he's at 53% loss ratio.

Scotty was sacked by Bournemouth when they were in the middle of being taken over. The previous owners didn't back him in the window and he basically got himself sacked IIRC.
As for Fulham, yes they went down. This was 20/21 when he was 40 and one of the youngest managers in the league.

It's a risk, but I'm seeing signs that he is getting better as a manager and doesn't actually lose many games. He's about to match Readings record of least losses ever in a Championship season, possibly in the same season we break our record for the most losses in a PL season.

1 year into a 3 year contract. Could even be "cheap" for Levy.

Poch went on to win the league at PSG, landed the Chelsea job and waded through a clusterfuck to get a top 6 finish.
Mourinho went on to win the conference league with Roma and currently 2nd, 3 points off top spot with Fener
Conte currently 3 points behind Inter in a title race for Serie A

So how exactly is Spurs a graveyard?

I only put people who were attainable. He's not walking out of a job he hasn't started yet. Even if he wanted to, it would probably be too costly for Scrooge McLevy.
