Match Leicester away Monday 19th 20.00 GMT

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

But those tactics saw us carve out opening after opening which should have ended the game by 60 minutes, right?

It's a terrible result and its very concerning that we reacted poorly after going behind rather than immediately establishing dominance again - but we should have won that game by 60 minutes with the tactics and team Ange sent out there.

How is it "all on" him?
Spurs came out organized and ready to play, which tells me Postecoglou and his staff had prepared them well. In the first half they looked composed with the ball and were so much in possession Leicester City appeared to be no threat. Maybe the answer is simply that Spurs are too young and don't have the veteran presence on the pitch that knows what to do when momentum shifts. LC had Jamie Vardy, the type player who can grab a team by the scruff of the neck and pull them along. Spurs have Son, who is more talented, but may not be a player who exerts influence beyond his own play. At the end, when Spurs had to force a result the subs were mostly very young players. Which is not to say it's all doom and gloom, but there are still growing pains.

I actually think we played pretty well, the main thing for me was the midfield all seemed to work nicely. Created chances through the middle, or just wide of centre. Defensively looked a lot better at set pieces and organised in general. Can honestly say that the vast majority of the side played well. Bergvall had some very tidy touches when came on, as did Kulu actually.

The bad though - both wingers. Heavy touches, lack of pressing- just... not good.

And - not taking chances. Same as last year, we NEED to take them when its 1-0. You dont do it, you get punished. And if not for Vic's excellent save vs Vardy it could have been worse
But that's pretty much what is was - neat and tidy with no real cutting edge - our goal came off Porros's shoulder.

Meanwhile other teams do two or three quick passes straight through us and score or at least get a chance.

It's worrying for the season that for such a dominant first half, we still cannot put games to bed and so teams will always know they're going to get a chance against us.

Villa, Liverpool, Newcastle, Woolwich, Man City, even Man U are all going to come away from there with three points.

Well... not quite. I think there were some very good signs for our attack though. Much more impetus than some of our ponderous pass-it-round-the-edge-of-the-box performances of recent times. Like I said, we need to get more clinical for sure.

Hypothetically though, if we'd been twatted by Leicester for the entire game only to snatch a last minute 1-0 win then I would have some serious concerns for the season ahead.

Thought the football was outstanding for most of the game and really should have been 3-0 up.

Fitness caught up with us and we conceded a goal from their first shot and then had a meltdown.

Overall I’d be much more concerned if we hadn’t created anything and looked like conceding all the time but we didn’t. We looked solid from set pieces and were really close to scoring from set pieces as well.

Football is cruel sometimes and today we had to take our medicine. I’m glad Vardy was a cunt as well. If that doesn’t light a few fires then nothing will.

Obviously the doom melts will dominate the conversation now but I’ll take that as well, if you want to win shit you need to be able to soak up the negative as well as enjoy the positive. It’s going to help us later on in the season

I see a team that's OK , nothing more , nothing less

We'll float through the season doing ok , nothing spectacular, we'll lose to anyone half decent and we'll end up anywhere between 5th and 8th depending on injuries and other teams form

That's the ceiling , there is no massive uptick coming down the line , this is who we are mate
I don't actually agree I think it might be worse than that. And its only the quality in the team that is sustaining that 8th -5th. I have huge doubts about the quality of the coaches. And the basic soundness of Postecoglou system. I'm not convinced at all, I hope I'm wrong but I think it's little more than vibes. Think Levy's had his pants pulled down which guts me because I like Ange.

Once again, our transfer policy shows that this is what you get when you prioritise quantity over quality. We are in a perpetual state of "muh rebuild" because we refuse to push the boat and buy top quality in certain positions. It's like just buying new cheap headphones on Amazon every few months instead of just getting fucking proper ones and being done with it.

Both sides of the wings were dross at the end of the season and are still dross starting this one. Both BJ and Son are incapable of winning one on ones with fullbacks. They were spoon fed opportunities to do so throughout the first half and at best they won lazy, deflected corners (lost count) and at worst gave away the ball. Quality on either side and this game would have been dead and buried in the first half with the amount of possession and space they had.

Second half screams for a quality number 6 to calm things down to allow us to try and regain the lead.

If we simply had a few quality signings we would not have to make wholesale changes like we did in the second half. A solidified squad would have easily won that 3 or 4 nil. The fact that Ange effectively changed squad in the second half doesn't show we finally have depth like some might like to think - it shows a compromised plan A because we still lack the QUALITY to execute it.

My point is, Angeball has been mostly shit outside of the first ten games of last season, and we ain't getting a start like that this year to make things look better. We are continuing as the team that lost 5 out of the last 7 games last season. Even if we nicked this 2-1, we have been really poor as soon as Leicester put us under pressure. They will be the weakest team we face.
Everton is a must win now as after that we have toon and goons. Lose both those and pressure will be on especially after the money that has been spent over last two years. Also as a lot keep saying Ange 2nd season every thing improves and so on.

Porro is still a bit of a score one/give one back type of player.
