If this is what pragmatism looks like I don’t like it. No courage or quality on the ball at all. really missing Romero and VDV bringing the ball out committing players and opening up passing options. All stemming from our defence not being good enough on the ball imo. I’d have Bergvall on for Sarr as well.
How's this been the defences fault. They done well. One or two errors from Gray and Spence but nothing serious. The goal comes from Gray having to tuck into the middle to help the CBs. Sarr and Bissouma both were on a Sunday walk back. Ange doesn't learn. We need a No6.

It's like we're a lower league side hoping for a giant killing rather than two Big 6 sides going head to head

I get the batten down the hatches approach but when we do get the ball we’ve been clueless and keep giving it away in dangerous positions. When we had prime Son, Kane and Kulusevski they would be making runs/calling for the ball and the defenders/midfielders would be looking to pick them out as quickly as possible. Whereas now, Son’s legs have gone, Kulu despite his effort looks like he has cones for feet and Richi who worked his arse off for 25 mins faded whilst offering nothing offensively.

The only way we’re getting through this is to be brave, competitive in midfield and have a threat offensively. Whether it be at half time, Porro, Bergvall and Moore need to be introduced.
