You could say the same about Trump...

Decent enough businessman, (with a bit of help from Daddy) but now running the Country like one of his business ventures, without really thinking how it affects the Citizens/Fans of that Cuntry/Club...
Heh-heh, Cuntry Club!

Plus they're both cunts!

Well to be fair, Sky, ITV, TalkShite and all the others also seemed to know the outcome too...
It's all they fucking talked about beforehand!

It's like they've never even heard of a Cup upset!
Difference is the American people voted for trump by the 10s of millions to try sort out the cesspit the country had become.
We didnt ask for that baldcunt and we are stuck with him

We blew what I feel is our only realistic chance of a trophy this season, but we did that by not being clinical enough in the first leg. Liverpool were poor and there for the taking. We should have entered the second leg 3 up, which would have forced Liverpool to commit numbers forward, leaving opportunities to spring an attack. Last night was pitiful, I don’t understand how so many ‘top’ players can give the ball away, seemingly under little pressure. I hate to knee jerk, so have held off forming an opinion but Ange doesn’t seem to have anything about him

Has anyone scored 3 goals or more against Liverpool this season? Also without conceding?

Iirc we scored 3 against them in the league but also conceded 6......

They are having an amazing season, probably the best team in Europe right now, noone has outplayed all season and you think it was possible we should have beaten them by 3 clear goals in tne first leg, especially when a young Czech kid was making his debut in goal and we barely struggled to put a team together on the night because of our injuries?

So many things need to change to turn this round.

But, for me, when the game starts and things start to go south, you have one person on the pitch who can be looked to and turn things round. Sure, the manager can swap out players, but if what he has at his disposal is not a marked upgrade to what is on the pitch, then I guess there are tactics to be changed - Hmm, we have Ange..

So that leaves the Captain on the pitch to influence players, bollock them, lead them, show fight. I love Son, god knows I have sung his name from the terraces in the past more times than I can count. But, that Captains badge must weight about 10 tons because it just weighs him down. Fine when we win, but when we need to dig deep I just don't see anything. I really don't want to dig him out, even though I am, but he has been awful in so many games this Season and last to a lesser degree.

His whole demeanour, the sloping shoulders, the facial expressions. It is not the look of a leader when things are going badly for us. He needs to be used to his strengths and in a the correct position on the pitch. I would use him either as a Sub, or for the first 45 mins. Anymore and it just isn't working. He may be great in the changing room and training pitch, but in the middle of a game, I just am not seeing a Captain who will lead the troops into a fight.

Fix this one thing and then we can work on the others.

Anyway..

Spot on. Nothing else to add except our supporters were let down again
Was a weird atmosphere. Even the scousers only really started properly making noise at 3-0. First ever Anfield experience and not what I was expecting.

Incidentally a Bradford supporting colleague took a last minute ticket next to me. He said he probably watches one or two games a week and MotD but hasn’t actually watched any spurs matches this year.
He was legitimately shocked at how meek we were. He kept on saying “Is it always like this? I don’t understand what’s going on.” Reason I raise this is that he had no skin in the game - wanted spurs to win as he was in with us but probably won’t even think about it this morning - but he’s was appalled by the application. So it’s not a spurs bias.

Still cant reconcile how bad that was last night even with the usual caveats. Such a lack of organisation and fight, so accepting of our fate. It was like a league one team going there in the cup not being that fussed because they're chasing promotion. Spence on the wing and Gray left back should be a fitting epitath for this manager but probably wont be.

We were never beating them at Anfield when they're in that sort of form, probably not even with our best 11 fully fit and ready. All we could really do as fans is dream.

The result is disappointing but that's actually not what's made me wake up gloomy. It's the gulf between us now and us at our best. I respect the long term vision of waiting for the youth to get a couple more years of experience before being able to properly challenge (although that doesn't mean allowing us to dive towards the bottom of the league whilst doing so), and at another top club, maybe I'd be ok with the wait. But I don't trust Levy. I have zero faith that he'll back the project properly and keep the churn going until the mixture is right. He'll always leave managers short at necessary moments. At present, all I see is a very mediocre outfit with little to no winning ambition. Those kids will have the belief beaten out of them under ENIC.

...And it doesn't work when everyone is constantly coughing up the ball in front of the back 4; meaning they're just subject to a relentless onslaught.

When we've shithoused 1-0 wins against Man City in the past it required more than just the back 4 & GK to play well.

Also the way most teams set up you need your widement to keep the oppo full backs honest; otherwise you just get pinned the fuck back and your FBs doubled-up upon.

True, but that's a bigger issue which is that we have flaky, weak and inconsistent players. Still last night Bentancur was invisible, Bissouma as always giving the ball away in crucial areas, Sarr running around like a headless chicken, Sonny being Sonny, Richarlison showed a bit of fight but of course got injured as usual, Kulu is exhausted .......I don't understand why some fans are so surprised by what happened

I'm getting disillusioned with the whole bias in football thing.

Why do we have to accept that Liverpool will always get favourable decisions up there?

Everyone knows it, and everyone just shrugs their shoulders.

There is no denying that different teams get treated differently by refs and yet everyone seems fine with it.

Same with the City charges that will amount to nothing.

Media as well - football is pretty rotten from top to bottom and is just set up to rinse you of your money at every occasion.
There’s a bias towards Northern and Midlands teams.

It isn’t even discrete.

The dippers have played about the same games as us with a pretty consistent starting XI

Where’s their exhaustion? I know they’ve had less injuries but it kind of shows the strength in mentality in comparison to ours

Hugely tough fixture; but the team (performance) from the 1st leg or Brentford game stands a chance of squeezing the necessary draw out of that game.

That team didn't show up last night though.

...And once again; you could tell once Ange didn't make HT changes that all remaining hope was gone.

Yep , it's not losing , it's the way we lost . Just bloody rolled over and left them to it . It's a semi final for God's sake .

Unacceptable

Maybe, but there were plenty of us (myself included) who protested for Alan Sugar to be ousted by Venables...

Anyone else remember L.O.T.S? (Left on the Shelf) It was a campaign group on a par with what we're now seeing today...

I was outside Haringey Town Hall in the late '80s for the council meeting that decided our immediate fate... Felt like we'd won the Cup, people celebrating and hugging eachother, celebrating like we'd won the Cup!!

I know that's not like asking for someone like Levy to come along, but it certainly set the ball rolling for change at the very top.

This is nothing new... We've been like this since Irving Scholar... Just without the trophies to match.

"There used to be a Football Club over there" are probably the most prophetic, and forewarning words ever spoken by a Spurs manager since "The Game is about Glory" speech!

Bring back Arthur Richardson & Sidney Whale!!!

Too many of the big players like son, Bentancur and Bissouma hiding last night.
Said before, no drive or winners streak from the top, that has infested down to the pitch.
That was literally men against boys out there, I'm sick to death of it. Turned it off at 2-0 it was obvious the team had lost.
Staggered about how bad they are with and without the ball.

Thats not how it works. You know very well that the famous Angeball involves a very high defensive line and everyone pressing like crazy to win the ball and create possession. Why is it that until very recently thats all we have ever done, no matter who we played against, and it was the biggest criticism of Ange.

Last night they were set up to defend deep, they defended deep and they conceded possession. Too many injuries to key players, the ones who are able to play are exhausted, it's understandable that we chose to play this way.

Sure- I guess that's why Ange took the time after the game to lament the players' lack of adhesion to his front-footed style.

Did you even take the time to see that quote of his? It doesn't exactly seem like it.

We were doing fine until Bissouma did what he did. After that all belief disappeared and the result was inevitable. Thats the weak mentality I'm talking about, its there and generally it's always been there at this club. Everyone knows it, we are mocked for it, we have a word invented that accurately represents it

We didn't concede against Brentford or against Liverpool at home, it makes a difference and brings confidence the longer it goes on during a game but we were lucky in those games. Last night Bissoumas fuck up was punished. In general our players are not clever enough, confident enough, good enough to compete atm.

The only changes Ange could have made at half time were to bring in Moore and Bergvall but come on realistically what would have changed, they are just two kids. Change the tactics, push up more, press more? Liverpool would have just ran rings around us like they did in the 6-3. They are a very good team with an impressive smart manager in charge.
