Match Liverpool (A) EFL Carabao Cup Second Leg. 6/2 8PM (SKY & ITV) *We're up 1-0*.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Joking apart, could you imagine the outcry today if that had been the other way round and we had won. The press would be up in arms over it, death threats to the Ref and assistants. Prime Minister questioned in Parliament.

It is what they do. I still think they are benefitting for the VAR mistake at our place a couple of seasons ago. Refs are shit scared of them.
Do think like the NFL, you can have one challenge each half coach can ask 3rd official. That van dijk elbow if we had challenged that would have been more scrutinised by VAR and TV then ref would have to explain it to crowd.

Unlike some I'm not even too bothered about no shots on goal, it would have been tolerable if we were actually solid at the back in a way that a low block team should be. My primary issue is, whether it's Hoffenheim, Brentford or Liverpool, we just can't nip any attacks in the bud. It almost always comes down to someone throwing himself in front of a shot on goal around/inside the box, someone barely intercepting a cross just as it is about to reach its target waiting wide open in the back post, or something similar.

This on-the-edge-of-your-seat defending is akin to trying to win coin flips over and over again. It works until it doesn't. Individual errors like Bissouma's givewaway and Kinsky's penalty were not very consequential in this respect. They were always going to score one way or another, it was a matter of when not if.

so as you can see he's a bluffer then you can do better than him?

but you have to manage the same amount of injured players, and the same CEO
😂 I’m not putting ‘me’ into the equation here. You are…

I did allude to us watching fans/Joe public ‘sometimes’ spotting a bluffer and yes, to expand, Ange appears out of his depth and making it up as he goes along - i.e a bluffer.

None of us know what he says to the players, how or if he motivates and indeed all these persistent muscle injuries are down to his training methods because none of us (I take it) have access to the training ground or dressing room.

However, I’m hazarding a guess that you are a seasoned football watcher. I am. How do you rate our team’s set up (not just last night but over 18 months)? Is it a coincidence that we seem to concede the same type of goals every week? How do you rate Ange’s in game management? The Everton 3 at the back gamble and last nights attempt at a low block - all part of Plan B or Plan C (meticulously drilled on the training pitch)? Or just a punt?

It’s the lows that make you appreciate the highs my man!!

Point taken ; But can you begin to imagine how much we’ll appreciate the next “ high “ if and when it happens?

The coronary care units are goingto be bedlocked ( in a good cause ) .

( Also the pubs will run dry and no-one will go to work for a week; again all in a good cause ) . Pray to God that day comes .

( Still fuming ) .

One thing we should take from Liverpool this season is how they manage to perform at such a high intensity level, with the minimum of injuries.
That's an area we need to look at, is it profile of players, darks arts in the medical team, sports science. Whatever it is we need to look into it and adopt it.
Liverpools squad is certainly a little deeper than ours but given the amount of game time their core players play in the CL, PL and domestic cups there must be something they are doing that we aren't.

To be honest, I’ve been thinking this since Hoddle was sacked. And rabbits keep getting pulled out of hats.

Say what you like about our managers since, they’ve mostly been of a good quality. And many more will be in the queue when the inevitable happens to Ange.
You could be totally correct.

Maybe Levy is a magician*.

* Obviously an evil, greedy dark wizard that loves money too much. Grumble, grumble. Levy pictured below:

Something is really really wrong with the sports science situation at Spurs.
