Tony Cascarino praising Keeley yesterday on Talksport. Has seen an Orient 3 times and is wondering why we bought Kinsky . Thinks he is as good if not better.
Keeley continues to improve, and he's impressed a lot of people both at Spurs or outside including Pep - but Kinsky in January had vastly more playing time (circa 100 first team appearances versus Keeley's circa 30) for a 'big' team (Slavia Prague) still in this season's EL competition and has also played in CL qualifying matches.
I could imagine the uproar if Spurs recalled Keeley from League 1 Orient and announced he would (temporarily) be no 1 at Spurs until Vicario returned (originally expected mid March) - especially given the bed wetting before Austin played his first match after Forster became unavailable.
Keeley showed his quality in making a few good saves v ManCity and was not at all overawed, so I think that had the need to add a goalkeeper happened next summer, Keeley or even Austin would have looked viable alternatives - but at start of January it would have looked a very risky strategy which a lot of fans would have been demonstrating against. Next season I suspect Keeley will have a loan in Championship or better and come back to Spurs after that. Its then a question of who is the better keeper at that point I suspect, and its perfectly possible it will be Keeley - and by then the difference in experience will be a lot less.
