I'm thinking he gets better and better each game- just let him play. His best positions for me are 8 > 6 > 10, but I've no doubt he can be a fine 10 if he wants to.
I wonder how many fans realize that we are looking at a future captain for the club here. There is a lot of character and 'grinta' in this 19-year-old who maybe looks like a Bjorn Borg model, but make no mistake.
I really think most fans recognise the characteristics it takes to be a great captain, you just have to pick out a few all time greats to see they all have much the same personal qualities in common, Keane, Vieira, Kompany, Terry, Gerrard. Never give up attitude, an aura and reputation of don't fuck with me, an ability to drag your team through hard games by setting your own example, an absolute trust from your team mates and of course being a very good baller yourself. Also, I like a midfield captain it just seems like a good fit usually. Honestly, I reckon Lucas has the lot, and given a few years and he becomes that more senior player, he will want it badly so will do all he can to get the armband. Cant wait to see him progress, he has a good head on his shoulders and impeccable family background to keep him on the right track. I'm sure most fans see the potential and just hope he realises all that potential with us.

He managed to get through the press conference without saying anything interesting at all. Definitely captain material.
We've had so many false dawns with regard to younger players, but Lucas has definitely got the 'X' factor. By no means the finished article, but his skill set for a 19 year old, playing in the toughest league is ridiculous. I love his never-say-die attitude, that's something you can't teach or coach. He's such an important player for us and he makes things happen.
I hope that he can continue to improve and that he is utilized in his best position.

I know he’s a sacred cow in this fan base and I love him as a player too BUT

He’s very much a work in progress. And there is a fair bit of work to do.
He's what, 19? It'll come. He's already showed glimpses of being a top, top player.
Not happy. His best work comes from driving it from deep positions. Not convinced by his creativity in general for 10.
He’s an 8 all day for me - he has the physicality to mix it up deep and his best attributes all marry well with it.

This is a 19 year old who can mix it up physically with the likes of Joelinton in the middle of the park and he’s being shoehorned into a 10 that vacates the middle of the park
