Player Lucas Bergvall

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I thought he looked fantastic, very much an "all action midfielder", to borrow a phrase from our player search.
Also, getting bollocked by your keeper is as much a part of football as the offside rule. He'll get over it.
I don’t think he will be bothered at all about it, if anything it shows the squad as a whole is pretty close. Fuck me Pickford bollocks every player on his team even if the ball is nowhere near him.

No way- except for Moore they are all ready to start at least 15 Prem games this year. No reason to not start them- they just need to have their injuries and rest carefully managed.

I'm not sure you read that properly mate..... Not saying that none of them have the ability to start games this season. I'm rejecting the premature notion that they can all start at the same time within the coming weeks and that collectively they can shoulder the fate of our season.

The optics of our pre-season shouldn't be expected to translate to full-steam EPL football.

For me this young lads performance was the highlight of an ultimately disappointing evening. For an 18 year old to come on and proceed to dictate the game with such confidence and intensity is really encouraging- I don’t want to go too early on this but……we might just have an incredible player going forward.
Despite the result it was fantastic to be back following the Spurs, great atmosphere in the away pub pre game and lovely to see so many mates and familiar faces.COYS.

I think it just made Vicario look weak. Romero made a far bigger fuck up and he said nothing. Weak mentality.

I don’t mind goalies getting angry but don’t be a coward.

It doesn’t help that the perception of this team and of this club is weak mentality footballers. We fold under pressure. Can give it to an 18 year old, can’t give it to a senior defender.

Totally agree, impressing stuff.

I payed more close attention to Martin Ødegaard when he was at this age, and even though he was a similar prospect ability wise, he needed years before he had displays like this on the big scene. Ø showed stuff in glimpses early on, but was never able to play a big part in games before years (and loanings) after..

Trying not to get carried away, but Bergvall can really be some player for us. Love him already

He has got natural core strength and balance which is very rare. That is probably his advantage.

Definitely. Add to that the league he has come from which isn’t going to be at the level of the pl and he’s done amazingly well. Great attitude too by the looks of things. Top draw bit of scouting to get him it has to be said.

It was Romero who put Bergwall into a difficult spot in the first place.

Ffs we need to be less precious about Bergvall getting the Vic treatment. People want him to be a starter in the Premier League at the age of 18 but gone all crying and worrying he will get hurt emotionally like a age of 8. This is a professional contact sport at the highest level. Are we going to report those who went in hard on him in a tackle for abuse and voluntarily hurt? Good grief.

Promising but please stop calling for him to start every week. He’s still a kid learning the game, there will be the inevitable lows as well as highs.

Him and Gray need time.
Gray will need time but this kid is already too good to not be starting for us.

We simply don’t have better options, would of been nice if we had signed a couple established midfielders in the summer, but we didn’t.
