Player Lucas Bergvall

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Lucas Bergvall is bigger than people think

King spoke about Bergvall and his size.

The pundit says that Bergvall is actually a big unit, despite the fact his size doesn’t necessarily stand out so much due to his fantastic technical ability.

“One thing that probably doesn’t stand out is just how big Lucas is and how physical he is. For someone so young he knows how to get stuck in and he has great intensity in terms of his pressing.

“We speak about lifting crowds, he can do that with his pressing, his running, his enthusiasm to win the ball back at times. He can dribble, he can pass, I’ve been really impressed with him.”

How big is Lucas Bergvall?

Bergvall may only be 19, but he is a big lad.

Indeed, Alasdair Gold commented on Bergvall’s size earlier this year after interviewing him in person.

“You can see it. I was waiting after the game and observing the way he was. He looks like a star. Boy band looks, a poster boy of the sport Sweden want him to become,” Gold said.

“He’s a big lad, that’s what I noticed. I’m 6 ft and he’s above that, he’s broad, really physically developed. I noticed that in the game as well, not easily pushed off the ball.”

So, how big is Bergvall?

The Swede stands at 6 ft 2, making him one of the bigger outfield players in the Spurs squad.

He is crazy strong for 19. Probably stronger than 95% of PL players already, if his growth continues he could end up Moussa Dembele strong and I didn’t think l I would be saying that. Gray is also very strong for his age.

It’s also why Mikey Moore is a little way off first team consistently, not weak but not yet a man. Bergvall and Gray are a bit freakish , Bergvall in particular.

Bergvall is the bully that every team needs. When your bully is one of your best technicians as well, that is a player you have on your hands. The thing about playing him at #6 is that he can also learn to dictate tempo as well from there and he's also clearly a high IQ player in terms of recognizing the patterns of the game.

Prob the player I’m most excited for at spurs! There was major hype around Moore, grey etc, but this guy looks the business!

what I’ve noticed is that the above two look like they can hang at this level of football and not look out of there depth (grey more so than Moore who has struggled at times) but Lucas actually looked a level or so above most of the players he is against!

I agree re Bergvall - but it's worth pointing out if it were not for the amount of injuries we had - he'd have not had a real chance this season.
There was even talk of Ange wanting to send him out on loan.
Moore has not had a lot of chances - has not had a look in since he scored in the Europa match.

Bergvall and Gray are now 19, Moore almost 2 years younger at age 17

Moore like all 17 year olds will put on a lot of muscle and develop physically in next 2 years. Moore is already about 6 foot and well developed for his age, but 2 more years of physical development will transform him and other players will not find it easy to bounce him off the ball, which is Moore's problem playing against men now.

So no point in giving up on Moore, just wait a little more, another 6 months, year or 18 months and things will noticeably change in his physicality. But his technical skills are already excellent

Bergvall has improved immensely since starting at Spurs just 6 months ago, so that's all to come for Mikey

Don't know if it's blonde and baby face but it's only in the tunnel I realise hes huge..a proper unit

Amazing to think that in a couple of years time Bergvall and Gray will be CT. Throw in a reserve GK and we have most of our quota sorted for years to come.

Do we pay homage to Ange or Levy for this?

And just as handsome, in a Viking sort of way! ;)
