I watched the game and respectfully disagree. Had impetus and tried to make things happen.

Who else played better?

Seriously, that's it?

One dribble/cross and two passes?

Come on man, this is like the nonsense we used to get in the Kulusevski thread. Don't do that to Bergval, he doesn't deserve the wankhorn treatment, he's only 18. it'll just makes people hate him if you start blowing the hypehorn like a vuvuzela 24/7.

He's got some ability, a good attitude. Let's not ruin him yet. He can have meh games and it's not the end of the world.

Couldn't believe Odobert didn't play that ball in behind in the first clip

That right hand side had never played together before and it was obvious.

This is a team sport and Postecoglou’s biggest problem is that he’s never been able to build a team. Son and Maddison should be telepathis with each other down that left side by now but they more seem to compete with each other.

He’s not known his best midfield since those first 10 games and Biss fell off either.

All I was saying is that hev was the most positive player during the time that I watched.

I have no idea why that makes you think of Kulusevski tbh.

If you decide to hate him because I think he played better than other players in a bad performance by the team then that’s just fucking weird tbh. I wasn’t alone either, the away fans boo’d the manager for subbing him.
Maybe try not hating our players at all ?

Bergvall has a long way to go but he definitely looks like a serious player when he gets there.

Said it in the match thread and I'll say it here, this guy is already our best player. Doesn't stop trying, great on the ball and works hard off of it. On one hand it's incredible for him to be so important at 19, on the other it's a bit of an indictment on his teammates.

hmm, strong statement - we have better players in the squad to my mind (VDV, if anyone) but hes up there with our best midfielders. Which does say a lot about our senior mids

He wouldn’t be getting much game time for Barca.
Hmmm they play Cubarsi, Balde, Pedri, Gavi and Yamal pretty much every game and they're all kids.

Bergvall has the physical attributes for the PL so that'd be no issue in la Liga. Plus the kid has the footy IQ and technical ability that you see in younguns coming out of La Masia.

I reckon he'd have bagged 20 appearances minimum.

Barca would be playing Bergvall #6 and tbh I think he’d be taking minutes off Gavi this season who isn’t kicking on the way they maybe hoped he would have by now

Honestly think Barca saw Bergvall as succession planning for Frenkie and they wanted those wages off the bill asap

Isn't the headless chicken issue people are bemoaning just a function of how we're "coached" and "tactically" set up?
someone the other day said we can't really judge a lot of the players because the manager is so fucking stupid.

He looks like he's got fantastic potential and I'd really like to see him with a proper coach here

any number of good managers at smaller clubs might be looking at him and thinking I could really get a tune out of him

In a weird way he probably benefited from coming straight from Allsvenskan to the Premier League given the chaotic way that we play.

Allsvenskan is a very physical, workman like league. Even creative and technically well drilled teams have to put in a lot of physical effort to win. So Lucas came in used to the sort of chaos that Ange is dishing out.

Just turned 19. Playing at a huge club. No analysis necessary at this stage.

Gerrard, Lampard etc at the same age. Not worldbeaters. De Bruyne, not deemed good enough for Chelsea.

Let's see how the young man develops, hopefully with a manager who is able to get the very most out of an obvious talent.
