Player Lucas Bergvall

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That4-3-3 with Gray and Sarr (?) around Palh earlier this season was really nice. I think even Bentancur could look decent as an outside 8 in that formation too, if not as the backup 6. Sarr, Gray and Bergvall all are perfect for it.

Or 352 on occasions such as this week.

....clinging to that extra attacker on Sat at the expense of our MF was a big mistake.

Meh. Off the ball he tears about like a puppy on a PCP enema. On the ball, very little composure, can carry but vision/passing is nothing special.

Like Odobert, Gray, and Tel, he should be out somewhere getting regular football under less pressure.

Just typical of the neglect and poor squad building that has left us woefully short of the top end of the PL.
All of those players should be getting as many minutes as possible because the other options aren’t much better.

What about the 18 year old kid who waltzed into the Chelsea team last night and took Barca apart...
Well THAT!

WHY CANT WE HAVE SOMEONE TO DO THAT?

Nobody we have is that talented.

We have fans who think they are but that doesn’t make it true.
This is very true. Bergvall is the closest we’ve got who could become top notch but now he’s getting stifled here sitting on the bench and all confidence drained from him. Play the fucking boy as a centre midfielder and not this number 10 pish where he ends up next to a striker playing with his back to goal. Bonkers to use a midfielder like that who likes to carry the ball and have the game in front of him.

I think Bergwall and Gray are being underestimated and underused...

Maybe they're not Yamal... but Barca wanted Bergwall for a reason...
or was that all bullshit?
Not bullshit, I’m sure they would have liked him. But he’s just one on a list of probably dozens on their radar. It’s no big deal when they don’t get him.

We on the other hand absolutely fucking cream ourselves because we think we’ve got somebody special. When in reality he’s no more special than lots of other talented young players.

If he was he wouldn’t be here…

Frank needs to start him and Gray from now on to at least give us some hope for the future. Bentinha isn't working, we aren't defensively solid with them two in front of defence so it's pointless to continue with it.
Like all young players they will have their off days but least they will have good days which is something that can hopefully mean we no longer have to avoid the middle of park

You seriously think he’s going to regularly start with 2 teenagers in central midfield?

Which top team does that?

I don't think he will but he should. Bentancur/ palhina is the new winks / sissoko where fans can see it doesn't work but manager keeps going with it.
And unfortunately we aren't a top side we are mid table at best and for a transition season like this it's worth taking the gamble now rather than keep going with what we are doing which isn't working
