I don't think he will but he should. Bentancur/ palhina is the new winks / sissoko where fans can see it doesn't work but manager keeps going with it.
And unfortunately we aren't a top side we are mid table at best and for a transition season like this it's worth taking the gamble now rather than keep going with what we are doing which isn't working
Yeah we've punted on youth talent in the market as a bit of a long term gambit so we might as well play them and develop them. At the moment we're getting the worst of both worlds - playing a dysfunctional older pairing that doesn't work AND not developing our young players.

Personally I think we should play one of the kids alongside either Bentacur or Palhinha in most games. We can probably get away with a playing both kids in easier games (it worked OK vs Burnley) but I think going all-in on the teenagers won't work against better teams.

Safe to say I'd be happy to never see the Bentancur/Palhinha pivot ever again, though. If we're conceding 4 goals playing those 2 in front of a back 3, it proves they're not even defensively sound as a pair, which was the entire basis for playing them.

Enjoyed the slightly precocious Bergy/Gray interplay tonight. Lovely little move to set up the cross for Richy's goal via RKM.

If we're playing the yoof, I'd stick those two with Xavi and see what happens in midfield, with Pal as the holding DM.

I think 2 up top actually suits that CM diamond right there quite well. RKM and Richy seemed like a decent pairing by the look of it- maybe something to build upon. Tel seems like he'd be good in that rotation, too...

Great piece by Archie and this is very encouraging
"Gray and Bergvall combined for Spurs' excellent opening goal with the Swede playing a back heel into his team-mate's run and the former Leeds man chipped a cross to the back post where Kolo Muani headed the ball back across for Richarlison to nod home. Gray admits his bond with Bergvall away from the game helps with their connection on the turf.

"Me and Lucas are really close. Every time we're on the pitch together, we just trust each other 100 per cent," said the teen. "Even if there is pressure on us, we know we can play to each other and we can handle that pressure. We're really close on the pitch and off the pitch as well."

love that. These two have the potential to be really good. Play them and JP as our first choice MF

Cute. Haven’t had a kid bromance since Del and Dier.

Frank needs to start him and Gray from now on to at least give us some hope for the future. Bentinha isn't working, we aren't defensively solid with them two in front of defence so it's pointless to continue with it.
Like all young players they will have their off days but least they will have good days which is something that can hopefully mean we no longer have to avoid the middle of park
I don't think it's a case of just starting Gray and Bergwall always at the expense of Bentancur/Paulinha...
I think Bentancur OR Paulinha have their place alongside one or a combo of Gray, Bergwall or Sarr in CM, in SOME games, allowing more creative outlets like Xavi and Kudus to do their thing in CERTAIN games, but not all...

That's the beauty of finally having a bit of depth to choose from...

Imagine when Kulu, Maddison & Solanke get back!

Think it’s clear that this guy needs to play as often as possible! His energy and bravery (sometimes gets caught but he’s a kid) seem to inspire the team! Looking forward to seeing him alongside Grey and Xavi to see how it works

Wasn't his best game but he's one of the very, very few players in this squad I'd want to keep.

Gives a shit. Has something about him. Most of our squad are total fucking wet wipes.

We should be grooming him into the all-action 8 role but Frank for some reason sees him as capable of playing the 10 at a Prem level right now. He's actually looked good to me as a LM or RM and I think he could do a job there for us if we want to play 4-4-2 like we sort of did against PSG. Anyways, Frank is doing as he does, and it's not working out. Bergvall has great qualities though and has to be included in our sides most games out right now.

But he’s better than them all. 😂 We need to integrate some quality around our kids. That’s the issue.
He really isn’t though. Yes, only 19 and has loads of potential. Massive lack of composure in the final third. Doesn’t shoot or offer any real creativity. Because he’s “busy” it seems to pass the eye test for a lot of fans, there’s been very little output though.

Gray is the same when playing cm, as is Sarr and Bentancur as an 8.

Almost zero goal threat from our currently fit midfield. If we’re going 433 have to play Simons as one of the midfield 3. Have to get him into the team somewhere, without Maddison and Kulu there’s no creativity.
