Player Luka Vuskovic

Hmmmm no?

Sell Romero and start him with Micky. Id rather a kid make mistakes then an established 'captain' that does whatever the fuck he wants.
Sometimes, you have to count for the player (human) as well. Hamburg is not just a club for him, it's the club that supported his brother after some very shady decision to suspend him for 4 years due to illegal substance abuse (that other players might've not even been suspended at all). It would be much easier in the negotiations if Vuskovic was happy, and letting him stay at Hamburg for another season or half a season definitely helps.

I dunno. He's made it pretty clear that it's his "dream" to play with his brother. Depriving him of that opportunity so that he can sit on the bench (in the pretty likely scenario that we don't get rid of Romero) at Spurs next season is a surefire way of fucking that relationship up.

I'd play politics. Use his desire to play with his brother next season as leverage to get him to sign a 6 year deal, give him a full season in Germany with his brother then let him come back as a more experienced, more developed 20 year old who is likely to be incredibly grateful to the club.

This kid won't play for us next season. He'll wanna stay at Hamburg or go to one of the many fancy teams that are after him. Why would he wanna play for a clown car on fire.

This thread is genuinely annoying me :D

Fuck what he wants and fuck his brother, if we want to call him back we will, can't have some 18 year old dictating and calling the shots on what he wants to do...he hasn't even played a game for us yet.

It'll be better for his longer term development as well.

I said a few weeks ago that it was typical Tottenham to loan out a player who could clearly.add value right now as it stands amongst our squad places.

Do people still really feel that statement isn't correct? A half season clause should have been added to this deal, instead we go into games vs Man City with no Van De Ven, no Danso, needing to play Dragusin who hasn't played football for a year or a DM at CB in Palinha.

This is just more evidence of the fundamental problem at Spurs- no one at the coaching/exec/board level understand football at a high enough level to actually be able to identify elite talent. The only way that decision could have been made is with poor inherent understanding of his footballing abilities relative to what we already had.

They don't what they are looking at. They rely on scouts for ideas, and they don't give them enough money to sign most of the targets they want anyways.

“Having an important role at HSV is ideal. He needs to listen well to his good coach there. He doesn’t need to do much more.”

Need to get a coach in that is committed to playing him enough to keep him satisfied. Need a coach that is willing to work to integrate our available talent into a coherent defensive unit. If that means 3-4-3 so be it. If Romero leaves that turns into 4-2-3-1 with Danso and Dragusin being backups, so be it.

We need to get Vusk into our side asap.

I think the bigger problem is that Romero would not be able to perform better in the RCB role rather than the CCB role- Romero also wants to dictate the defense.

We're at somewhat of a crossroads as to what to do with Vusk and how to best integrate him. I think it's essential that we do so asap though. A sale of Romero for a large sum could help land us a premier attacker which would aid us greatly.

I have a nagging doubt he’ll never play for us competitively. We need to build the defence around him starting from next season. He is a generational talent. But if he goes on loan next season again, he can easily force a move the summer after as he won’t have long left on his contract, and Bayern are already turning his head. They’ll be telling him not to sign a new contract.

I wouldn't worry. There is zero chance that he'd be allowed to go on loan again without signing a contract extension.

But the more I think about it, the less I think the club will let him go out on loan next season. He's clearly good enough to play in the prem, we have to improve squad management to reduce injuries so having three quality centre backs rotating makes a lot of sense.

The option to play Romero/Vuskovic/VDV as a back 3 is also pretty tasty.

Why not just sign his brother as well?

We'll need him once Luca does his hammy and is out til March 2027!

Some don’t understand that he doesn’t have the option but to come back to us and I’m pretty sure he’ll be excited to get back and play in the premier league rather than Bundesliga 1 or fighting relegation in the Bundesliga again.
