Being reported (widely although I don’t know if it’s from a single original source) that his Dad has decided that he’ll play for Hamburg until the END OF next season.
Obviously, the kid is a potential great talent, and this might be the right move for him but it seems way too early to decide and this seems to be motivated by the family wanting brothers to play together. Feeling very uneasy about the way his agent, the family, and Hamburg have handled this from the get-go this summer. They seem to be dictating terms to the club.

Yeah and having read about his brother's doping case, I gotta say I'm a bit worried about the youngun's future. Obviously it ain't cause his brother took EPO that Luka gonna do likewise, but we can't pretend it's not something to be concerned about.

They shouldn’t be in any position to do so & up it’s up the club to ensure this.

I’m probably suffering from PTSD (Post Tottenham Stress Disorder) and don’t think I deserve anything nice but I have a really nasty feeling in my gut that this kid will end up at Bayern (or a top Italian club) before he ever kicks a ball for us.

Cool. Nice opinion; very well articulated.
Did you articulate why he should be 6? lol.
your lesson.

Physical Limit: lacks Mobility the to cover the midfield.

Positional Indiscipline:His aggressive, sometimes reckless style leads to positional indiscipline
(leaving gaps), frequent fouls, and red cards, making him a liability in a position demanding control, structure, and tactical discipline to shield the defense, rather than a central defender who gambles forward.

Aggression Over Control: His immense aggression, while great for winning the ball as a center-back, translates to reckless challenges and unnecessary fouls in a DM role, leading to cards and giving away dangerous free-kicks.

Disrupts Team Shape: As a defender, he's used to stepping out, but as a DM, this would leave the defense exposed, forcing teammates to cover for him, as noted by some analyses.

High Risk, Low Reward (in DM role): While he's an excellent ball-winner and can carry the ball, but his risky actions often outweigh the benefits in a midfield pivot where consistency and tactical intelligence are paramount.

Fouls & Red Cards: He has a history of rash tackles and has received red cards, showing a lack of restraint – a major flaw for a player meant to anchor the midfield.

Sure I have, on numerous occasions I've elaborated on my thinking.

I disagree with just about everything here, primarily due to the simple fact that almost every single one of these criticisms is WAYYYYYYY worse for a CB.

It's okay to say that you don't think he has the engine or passing ability to be a 6, but pretty much all of the major deficiencies that Romero has as a defender are less important in a defensive midfielder.

I think giving him a run as a 6 would play to his strengths.

:frankfacepalm: You probably backed Poch when he used Son as a wingback too right?
