When Madrid enquired about Saliba they were immediately told not for sale. Anyone enquires about our players we look to make money. No way to build a team worth challenging for honours.

Don't think that's particularly true. We've not sold anyone we didn't want rid of, bar Kane, in a good decade or so if not more

That is what has drive up the net spent horrifically and stifled our ability to reinvest in the squad

He is my only hope for a better future.

Just hope whatever happens to us this season we won't sell him. Can see it coming though, what could he possibly want here?

There is a risk he's just not suited to this league though, like many CBs we've bought before.

We've been guilting of holding onto a player when we had a chance to sell them with high stock (e.g. Dier, Rose, Dele) and regretted it, so if he came over and looked like Dragusin then we'd be mugs

There is always a risk. But this player exceeds every expectations at his age. His mentality and talent are immense. You can not compare him to dross like Dragusin.
He came to Hamburg and became immediately their undroppable leader, putting in several man of the match performances, is their top scorer, and he already gives penaltys to teammates who need a goal.

He is going to be world class and the chances that he is not suited, are very slim. Although its possible he doesnt look as good in a non existent system with players without any confidence around him....

But its players like him that can turn us around and make a difference. Money is not our problem, the performance on the pitch is.

That's subjective though, and I'm on your side. But from the club's standpoint, that's 700% pure profit, they said money isn't as great as we thought, and they need to sell. I'm putting 2+2 and thinking logically about it. To essentially broker a deal and get paid £60-70m for the honour is a lot of money.

And we did not produce him, behave.
The money thing is Vini throwing Daniel under the bus because Vini is going to cop it if we go down.
Money is only a problem if we go down. That’s obvious to everybody.
We must keep all those young lads, that’s our future. Obvious who needs to go.

Main concern for me is what we promised them as a pathway and that goes for all of the likes of Vuskovic, Moore, Bergvall etc. I think both Vuskovic and Bergvall said they joined us over others because they liked the pathway we could offer. It wouldn't just be Champo for a year and then back to normal, Bergvall for instance staying with us would mean committing to not playing in Europe probably until he's 23 and that's best case scenario that we would bounce straight back up and get back in to Europe in a short time. The top kids want to be on the biggest stage, especially when they're already senior internationals at 18/19.

Correct.

They were sold by a brochure that included European and Premier League football. That's not the reality.

You wouldn't stay in a new job if you couldn't achieve your career targets there.

He should be a key part of our rebuild along with Bergvall etc build the team around them two and Gray

That’s our future spine

I’m like everyone really encouraged by his Hamburg loan.

We’ve never seen him in the prem yet. I hope he wants to come back and play but if he doesn’t, I’m not losing sleep over it.

Even if we get 80m for him, that was still a successful piece of transfer business.

Probably because we haven't had anyone worth selling, to attract a big offer.

Just imagine selling him for 60/70 m. To do what? Buy another Richarlison or Ndombele? A Bissouma and a Porro? No thanks.
Yeah - even ten-a-penny wingers like Elanga go for 55m in the current market, and this guy is meant to be the best young CB in world football.

If we sold him for 60-70m we'd end up paying about the same for the next hyped up young French CB from Rennes or something anyway who likely wouldn't be nearly as good. Chelsea have spent about 200m on young hyped up CBs like Disasi, Basashille, Fofana and none have anywhere near the buzz the Vuskovic has currently.

Wouldn't be surprised if he kicks up a fuss in the summer but we need the new manager and DoF to sell the lad a dream and build around him next season, whichever league we're in. He'll retain value for at least a couple years anyway (4 years left on his deal from the summer) if he's as good as everyone thinks.

We won't get this lucky with another budget youth signing for a long time - we need to use players like Vuskovic and Bergvall to help us climb out of the dirt. Otherwise we're at risk of staying shit long term.

I'm sorry, but have you looked at the fucking table? We're now relegation fodder. But of a contrary comparison.

There was a time a few years ago we could tell everyone to fuck off with Kane and Son. That time is not now.
