Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There is nothing political about The Athletic. In fact, if you asked me which way they went, I’d say left leaning based on ask the articles and the authors on there.

Just because the parent company is trash, doesn’t mean they are. Without ads, you wouldn’t even know the two were related.
We will have to agree to differ in this. The Athletic is a click bait written swamp its just as poor as the bbc sport. And I never said it showed a particular bias that was aimed at the dreadful NYT who certainly. But this is the place for this we can do it off T.

Well any loan for Vuskovic would be on the proviso he signs a big new contract. I've been saying all season whatever happened to Spurs there was a very good chance Vuskovic would sign a new deal as the club have him over a barrel - he's practically on youth team wages atm.

I'm guessing we'd push for him to extend to 2032 which gives us a ton of control over his future - he gets the fairy tale year with his brother in Hamburg and we then integrate him the season after. A 1 year extension would be OK, but 2 is what we should really be pushing for.

The thing that surprises me is that this is being mooted so early - I would've thought Roberto would want to suss him out in pre-season first. He's clearly an uber-talent and I'd love to see him integrated ASAP so he can get PL experience and build a connection with the club. But if De Zerbi feels he needs another loan and this gives us control over his future, then it's certainly not the worst thing in the world. He's still barely 19 after all.
He's just played a full season in a top league and performed incredibly well. He is about to play in the World Cup and I imagine he will be one of the stand out stars. Any normal team would say "Sorry Luka, you are contracted to Tottenham and we see you as an integral part of our squad for next season. We are happy to increase you salary in line with your current status as the best young CB in world football but we extend by 2 years". If he declines and refuses to join up with the squad after the World Cup, there really isn't much we can do except leave him to rot. I certainly wouldn't entertain sending him back to Hamburg on loan for another season. That would show other players they can get their own way by kicking up a fuss. If he puts in a transfer request, then accept it and tell his agent we will not come to the table unless the initial first bid is 100m.

Well this is precisely why I've always maintained he will sign a new deal. He's currently on like League 1 wages. He's wealthy but on absolute peanuts by football standards. The next contract, his first proper one, is the one that sets him and his family up for life. If he was a youth player he could fuck off, but he's got 4 years left on his Spurs deal so we have basically all the power in this situation. From a financial POV he's pretty much obliged to sign a new deal because the leap in earnings is SO big. The only alternative hope he has is for us to accept a silly 100m bid from Bayern, which is pretty much a win/win for us anyway (although personally I'd still prefer us to give him a proper run in the team).

As for why we'd loan him out again - ask De Zerbi I guess? Surely he'd have to sign off on that if it happens? Arteta did exactly the same with Saliba when 99% of Woolwich fans wanted him integrated after he was tearing it up in France so it's not unheard of (and it worked out fine for them in the end...although they did risk losing him at one point).

If he does sign a new deal and goes on loan that's far from a terrible outcome, though, even if it's frustrating. Gives us even more leverage long term if he extends by 2 years. And there's always a chance he signs a new deal and stays - we get the best of both worlds. He's signing a deal either way, though.

The rumour is he will get a new contract and then be sent out on loan. We would not agree to pay him more without extending the term that would not benefit us in any way.

Transfermarkt gave their value updates for Bundesliga.
Vuskovic value remained unchanged on 60 million EURO level (kind of weird that no upgrade considering him being in team of the season but so be it).

So... that makes him... 9th most valuable player in the league (!)
Only 7 Bayern stars + Diomande from Leipzig ahead of him.

Pretty insane.
Our loanee is more valuable than any player in clubs like Dortmund and Leverkusen and Gladbach.

And from our players only VDV is more valuable (65 mEUR) than Luka! And that might change too, they might decrease his value after such a poor season for us as a team.

Wouldnt believe that piece by delaney about him going out on loan, too early to judge what we do with him.

Im pretty certain after all his hype de zerbi will at least want to take a look at him in pre season before deciding if he stays or heads on loan.

Bring back Vuskovic = free 60m signing.
Not even Romero or VdV cost that much...

This is it.

For all the big talk from the club today, we will still need to raise funds to buy RDZ players.

One of the reasons Sensei and Robertson make sense, good additions at no cost.

Another in that sort of equation is letting Romero go for £50m and getting Vuskovic back with a pathway to the team.

Thats 3 additions to defense, while +£50m in the pot for sorting out our attack...

The ‘Vuskovic stays in Germany for another season’ idea has been floating about since at least January. If Delaney is using it as click bait, then it’s nothing new: he’s just repeating old news or, maybe, he has confirmation of old news.
We know that Vuskovic wanted to play alongside his brother who is back from a doping ban. We know that it was their side.( agent and family) who dictated the terms of his previous loan and not the club. Someone putting two and two together?

65 games across all comps.

He's 31 and has won everything at club level, wouldn't come here to start every game. But when he plays, he's a superb player, difference-maker.

Mainly, he knows about winning and has leadership qualities you don't see in Romero & co.

If Vuskovic gets his wish of one more year on loan to play with his brother and Romero gets sold, Stones and Danso as our 2 RCBs would be very solid.

Then hopefully we get Europe for the season after and you keep Stones as a mentor and extra pair of hands with Vuskovic
