Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think Pep has critique Angeball and is as baffled as the rest of the people who understand what they are watching. Pep likes to blow smoke but I genuinely think he is looking at the team and thinks..."I could get this lot flying" There's too much heedless running and not enough control of the game itself. I think if we get Iraola in and do not add one player we will get ECL I can't wait till we free ourselves of Angeball

Yeah he thinks we are shit compared to what we could be.

Spot on with your summary Mrs P. Who knows what goes on in Ange’s head (hamster wheel) but wonder if he’ll have any regrets over the XI that started?

Anyway, sat in the West Lower today - none of the usual crowd around tonight in the Paxton. Even more tourists down there??!? Didn’t think it was possible. People coming in with arm fulls of ‘snacks’ like it was the cinema. Up again 5 mins before HT, endless fucking selfies. Shopping bags packed with merch. Otherwise silent throughout the game. Exactly the ‘customer’ our dear leader craves…

That sounds pretty much like the West Stand for the last 30 years.

Apart from when you're winning 4 nil and have 5 mins of the game left, I see absolutely zero reason why any manager should be standing there like Ange does with his hands in his pockets as if he's a fan who's been given the luxury of being able to watch the team play from the sidelines.

As we all know each game is quite literally constantly shape shifting, there are so many factors and things to tinker with and adapt minute by minute...whether it's the style of play or giving a player a good hairdryer treatment forward slash kick up the arse to get their head back in the game.

Just like an orchestra needs a composer to keep things in check and running smoothly, we need our manager there to motivate, direct and lead! Not stand around like he's waiting for a feggin bus!

Orchestra/conductor?

Otherwise agree 👍

Set up Solanke brilliantly against Villa (the little chip goal) And Solanke repaid the favour against Pool.

But look we could be stronger that way,but I like Kulu central with Bergvall and Bents in behind
Still think Maddison drifts in and out
of games too often and won't press like Kulu. But he's quality when given TIME. When it's more hustle and bustel Kulu thrives more imo.

In fact Kulu playing off Solanke is exceptional work rate from the front.
Kulu doesn’t press his useless. So weak with the ball and without. No way he is better in the 10 role.”

More clean sheets than a lot of teams in the league though….. twice as many as Emery. That tactical mastermind.

You’re clearly able to do something premier league managers can’t do. You’ve missed your calling!
See this whataboutery I find baffling. Don't think Brian Fantana Brian Fantana cares wtf Emery or Villa any mid table team do.

The metrics that matter are the measure between Tottenham and the title winning aspirations the fans covet. If your defending the competence of Ange Postecoglou because we have more goals than anyone bar Liverpool or more clean sheets than Villa you have to add the context of our points tally, the league position and the 14 defeats. The defeats with his first team to Brighton, the humiliation to losing to Leicester ( losing not even a point) a side so bad they are approaching historic Derby county levels. Tamworth and their Zara winger, Coventry saved by a bloke a overlooked. Fighting with his own fans. The awful press conference attitude.

We have had unprecedented injuries ( they were not caused by bad luck) another red flag). But beyond the injuries the flaws in the tactical setup and underperformance in a wider sense are beyond survivable. This coach goes in the summer.

Fantana thinks he can to what 6 premier league managers have failed to do this season.
Including Guardiola. That’s it.

Emery was used as a reference point. Something often used in debate. But yeah call it whataboutery if you want.

The rest of what you have typed is all very nice.
Thank you.

It’s because it isn’t rocket science. Our fullbacks are ALWAYS 2 v 1 on the far post on a cross hit from deep or when we are counter attacked. Just attack those spaces. We never do anything to counter it and haven’t since Ange joined.

I didn’t say win a game or beat us, I said score against us. Two different things. I could set up a team to do the latter if the players take their chances.

Yeah I got what you are saying.

But I guess not losing is where your starting position is?
Unless you are saying in your mind losing 25-1 would be a good thing as long as the team you coached scored a goal? That’s a very different thing to aim for.

But 6 times this season clubs have failed to score against us in the premier league.
With all of their coaches, tactics, preparations and scouting of us 6 teams have failed to score despite identifying our weaknesses I’m sure.
So that tells me it’s not easy.

But you can do it no problem! Sign him up!! :)

And I’m not saying Ange is a defensive genius. I called out us allowing big chances when everyone else was still giving Ange reacharounds and applying for Australian citizenship to be like him.
We play a very high risk reward football that I think is most likely to be punished in this league over 38 games.

But it’s ironic we have kept twice as many clean sheets as Villa, more than Chelsea and the same as Bournemouth (who everyone says is where are next manager currently is).
Despite the glaring holes in our defence we have kept around the average number of clean sheets for the league, all with an absolute mess of a back line since December.

He's not the only one here could do what 6 othe EPL managers have failed to do. I genuinely wonder about Postecoglou licensing. I for one would not have a Europa league list that had Austin Forster and Whiteman at the expense of Djed Spence. How much smarts did that take Will..lol

And you over state the import of six teams being shut out. Sometimes even decent teams simply fail to convert chances have a look at the Burnley Sheffield game. Clean sheet for Burnley but it's got zero to do with the Burnley defence.

Do you realise why he had those two in the squad?
He couldn’t have taken either out to replace with Spence.

If you think he could have maybe check your own smarts!!

Yep it’s utterly bizarre. Our defensive frailties are so obvious too. So many times it feels like the opposition’s attack spurs great chances. If you look through the tactics autopsy thread I’m sure it will show that compared to the amount of chances we give up.

The whole league bar Liverpool is so inconsistent. The teams have come so close together in terms of ability and the table reflects that. Had we not had so many injuries we’d be another 4 or 5 places higher up the table, I think that’s undoubted. However all our games feel a mess. It’s chaos. Other teams’ matches don’t look like that when I watch them. Maybe that’s the reason for it?

One thing I do know. It won’t change under this manager whoever is on the pitch. That much is evident. Games will still be a mess and we will lack control even with our full team on the pitch. I think that’s what frustrates. I’ve said it numerous times. It’s possible to find a manager that doesn’t play suicidal football but also who doesn’t bore us into submission……Ange isn’t that manger.

It’s a twist on Ossie’s philosophy of
“ You score 4 we’ll score 5 “ just without the “ we’ll score 5 “ bit . Genius .

Ange swapped Danso & Gray from right to left, dropped Spence & brought back Porro.

Ange did not have to do either of those things but he chose to.

These decisions were the ones which led to City gaining a foothold in the game and creating several clear cut chances.

The fact Spurs were still in the game was complete luck and due to City's poor finishing.

Injuries have been cited as an excuse for Ange but he is often the master of his own downfall with his team selection and tactics.

City were low on confidence and there for the taking, off the back of the defeat to Liverpool, in my opinion.

Spurs need a credible manager who makes better decisions than Ange.

He's not going to improve this squad.

No amount of cajoling of potential transfer targets, recovery of injured players or signing kids will fix this shambles created by a manager so out of his depth.

I will go so far as to say that when we have a fully fit squad we won't see anything different from what we have seen to the last time we were solid in first team availability.

I think we will get through the next round of the EL, but can't see us going through the next side we meet.

It's a sad situation, especially when you teams around us, with less experienced managers, and vastly smaller player budgets not only outplay us but to so with a system and tactics that i would love to see played at Spurs.

Levy was premature, and plain daft to say that "we have got out Tottenham back" after such a short period of Ange being here. I think that 14 losses in 27 games doesn't to me look like we have our Tottenham back.

It say's to me injuries or not we have a manager who when compared to those of the past, is the worst in our history.

Agree 100%.

Semi finals of the Europa, being as far as this team gets, seems the most likely outcome.

You have to hand it to Levy though.

He keeps getting away with it.

He's not even selling jam tomorrow any more. It's jam in 2-3 years and people are buying it.
