Benteleb imo needs to play as a box to box mid and stop coming deep to collect the ball. Hes a very good player but yes today he wasn't so good.

i rate him as a player but he doesn't always deliver - not sure anyone knows his best position, i prefer to see him pushed forward

I still think he's a great DM though. It's not like a replacement DM is going to pass like Modric anyway.
We take too many risks playing it out of defense tactics wise.
Usual fare for me. Doesn't press, gets caught in possession too often. Not much of an end product. Better needed for top four.
Thought defensively we do look better. That seems to have been addressed over the summer.
Lets hope we start to up the goals and Chadli, Eriksen and Kane get into gear along with the new players coming in.

Watched the game live. Actually enjoyed it. But based on today's performance I can see Bentaleb being made to prove himself in order to get back into the first team - absolutely shit. I counted four passes that were intercepted before the one that led to Walker's OG.
1. We need a Modric replacement. Someone that can distribute the ball accurately and creatively from deep to allow Eriksen to stay further up the pitch.
2. We need to push forward instead of passing around our own half. Good teams will press us which will force a long ball which will inevitably be turned over.
3. I'm a Dolphin lover. But he was shit today. Left flank was far too weak and offered fuck all.
4. Another striker. I love Kane and he's still the boss but he could do with a friend up top. We need to score more goals. What I might say is sack off having two defensive midfielders, play another forward.
But other than that. We weren't too bad. Our defence looks a hell of a lot better than last season. Would still like to see Wimmer in there as he looked solid as a rock in pre season.

He was caught out of position a few times especially on the own goal, his passing was pretty weak, and I wanted to smack the shit out of him after the fifth time he hoofed it across the pitch to a completely empty left side.
For me, he was one of the weakest today.
