Id play Dier and Dembele in CM. It works, and does'nt need to be tampered with now Toby is back. I was surprised by Dier's omission today.
Dembele becomes free when Dier plays...I like Wanyama, he should play alongside Dier when Dembele is out, or if we need to go that way tactically, but for me, not in his place.
I think we underestimate just what Dembele brings to our attack in the old midfield...I think he plays a deeper role alongside Wanyama than he does with Dier. Wanyama is always one mistimed header away from a counter for the oppo, and Dembele is aware of that. He covers him, and we lose his forward play.
Without Lamela (and I fear he will also feel the wrath from fans expecting too much of him) we have a disrupted front line, but there is more than enough quality to cope.
Honestly, Id give them more freedom...its very annoying when 90% of our chances fall to Son, instead of Janssen or Kane. Kane has to run more....he should'nt be this Berbatov character, ambling around having to be clever, its a waste of talent. And Eriksen needs to open his eyes and practice some defence splitting passes along the floor when we have people running. He can hit a mean ball over the top, but lacks vision around the box.
Alli just needs to be young and raw.....we are discipling the very essence of what he is, out of him. A 19yr old shouldnt have to think like a 30yr old.

Our players were so naive today. The ManU players showed more nous than we did. I watched a ManU player sweep up almost every loose ball. I lost count of the number of times I watched Alli stand and wait for the ball to reach his feet. But then, you can argue in his case that it was mostly a result of bad passing. And it's not like there wasn't plenty of that going about. Bad passing, because of the pressure ManU players kept putting ours under. They did it for the whole game, pressure our guys, every one of them, being really physical at it. Even Dembele and Wanyama struggled to maintain their usual poise and calm. I don't understand why we couldn't up our own game to match their energy. It's like our guys went a bit insane, kept trying the same old thing time after time expecting a different result, stay calm stay calm, pass the ball, don't panic, pass the ball, above all, stay calm and don't panic. Well that's all well and good, staying calm, but when you're swinging a staff bull calmly by your trouser leg you need to be a little cleverer(er) (sic.). Sissoko was our best outfield player for me, he actually looked like he wanted to be better than his oppone(ne)nts (sic.).

Me too, and the harbinger was the last game of last season when we had all to play for to overcome a physiological handicap which was to finish above Woolwich.
It hit me that day that maybe I had gotten carried away. Surely we couldn't have become so great when with 4 games to play we were 5 points ahead of them and still fucked it up, and in such an embarrassing way.
It's a work in motion, there is a lot to be pleased with, but I am afraid we are not quite there yet.
Especially when navigating Europe.
Can't grumble too much considering the shit we have had to suffer over the years.
This season is a big one for us and the next 2 especially massive.

But we certainly didn't deserve to win
A poor performance all round, probably the worst this season
I am fucking gutted
I don't know why we didn't press them
I don't know why Hugo, top keeper, kept on throwing the ball to our full backs when they were marked
I don't know why whenever we seemed to get a free kick anywhere near our half it went backwards
I don't know why every time we attacked down the wings, got the better of their full back we either couldn't deliver a decent cross or we just cut back inside and the move floundered
Bigger mystery for me was so many of our players, bearing in mind this was supposed to be our 1st eleven, had shockers!
Kane, Delli, ,Dembele, Son, Eriksen
Lamela might have made a difference but Winks looked totally lost
N'Koudo looked clueless but maybe needs to start before we judge
Sissoko looked ok and, at least he took the FB on with success
Pivotal moment for me though was 75 mins Sissoko make a good run inside their box which they clearly hated!
He was challenged with heavy contact and should have gone down like that nonce Herrera but no he stayed on his feet and Madley gave a free kick against him for a routine challenge on Carrick who did go down!
So we could have got a penalty and a draw but no we fucking lost to this shower
But we played the game in the right way
So that's ok then!
