Ashley young has to be a contender for the 'most clueless pundit of 2024' award
He was like this at Chelsea. He is now behind Mikey as first sub for Sonny.Happy Johnson is shutting people up. He looks full of focus and confidence now.
Very unlucky with the one that came off the post, nearly put a ball in that even Werner couldn't have missed but a clearance. Was also busy putting a shift in at the the other end.
I'm also gonna go against the grain on Werner.
He was a pest today. He gave them a lot to think about all the while he was on. We, for once, fed the ball into space for him to run on and use his only consistent asset - pace.
He won't get a run in the starting 11, but he looks a goal away from gaining some confidence, and if we keep playing to his strengths, it won't take long.
That's what i like - options. He can play safely now as both 6 and 8. With or without Bissouma, with or without Sarr, with or without Deki. We can adjust as needed based on opponents, and its great.I still think #8 is his more natural position, cos it allows him to get up and down, press high, etc. He's quite handy in front of goal too.
But it speaks to his all-round game-intelligence that he can perform like that in the #6 too. No he doesn't receive it on the turn like Busquets, or pass like Pirlo, but he's smart, safe, keeps the ball safe, passes to the right guy, knows when to slow it down, speed it up, and can play a mean pass between the lines. Defensively nothing needs to be said, he's everywhere, so solid, so strong in the tackle. Bissouma has a lot of work to do to win back that spot.
We were up for it before kick off as if we sensed a good performance was in the offing -thought the fans were brilliant throughout and the appreciation between players and fans at the final was awesome / hopefully it continues
I didn't even think he was allowed to participate in post-match interviews.Sky bringing on Bruno to decry his sending off, I think that's fucking outrageous.
Gotta feel for timo … he must disdain at being so good at getting himself 1 on 1 with the keeperTo be fair Timo positioned his body in such a way that he was able to run onto the ball directly today whereas Son this season has often received the ball with his back to goal and even when he has had a chance to stretch his legs he has often been caught up as he is no longer as quick as he was. Anyway either way I agree Werner’s finishing is some of the worst I have seen

On seeing the result, I knew that the reaction from Sky would be a) how bad MU were and b) wrong decision about red card - so utterly predictable.Already sky bleating about how bad man u were. We were magnificent we did not allow them to play the story is actually how good tottenham were today not how bad man u were.
Fernandez doesn't think it was a red card offence..

Yes. Having those prospect pool in mind I thought it was good decision to not bring new MF in transfer window. And happy to still think this way.Our pool of MFers look really good and deep now and it's great that the young lads like Gray, Berg AND Sarr (+ Alfie next year) now have the space they need to grow rather than having the weight of the club on their shoulders.
Yep - even an off form Son gets 1 of those 2 one on ones in the onion bagIf Son was playing over Werner we win this game by 6 goals, not even joking.
I have to say it was a ridiculous decision really but I don't think it changed the outcome."of course everyone agrees it's not a red card"
Fuck off, Sky. The ref and VAR obviously don't agree. Fucking ludicrous coverage.

I'm surprised they haven't made him Bookies' favourite with SKYBET as frontrunner to get the Utd job!Fuck sake Sky. Game finished an hour ago and still the discussion all Utd. They’ll squeeze the Ange interview in between the ad break and the end of the programme. They’ll probably start with “ So Ange, what do you think Utd need to do to improve? Unbelievable.
