I can't help but wonder why any Spurs supporter gives a flying fuck whether it was a red card, a yellow card or an OBE that he got. He was impotent and ineffective and if he stayed on would have been as much use as a zip in a sock, based on his performance up to that time.
Move the fuck along people.

It doesn't matter if he missed him entirely.
Are you saying, that if a player set out to go studs up and smash a player in half, but misses, it shouldn't be a red?
The whole point of it being a red card offence is to stop people from doing dangerous shit, not to punish them if and when they injure someone.

I don't disagree with the premise that dangerous tackles should be punished irrespective of whether they involve contact. Lisandro Martinez should have got a straight red the week before against Palace even though there was no contact.

Where I disagree is that I don't think this was a dangerous tackle by Fernandes in the slightest. Even if he had caught Maddison with the studs - and, he didn't - the tackle was in slow motion and there was basically zero chance of any serious damage being done to the player. He caught him with the side of his foot and the only reason it was half way up his shin was because he slipped.

Edit: just seen it's been overturned. Obviously.

Peak Son had a 12-month span where he was the dirtiest playing in the league.

Straight red for André Gomes injuring himself, that Rüdiger thespian cunt, etc...

And the red card was rescinded so maybe I should just stop listening to your nonsense.
The ridiculous decision by the morons at the FA to rescind Fernandes' red card is a green light for any player who wants to lunge, out of control, studs first into the leg of an opponent. Of the 3 parties who have made an official decision on the incident, I side with two of them. Chris Kavenagh and VAR. The FA's decision is inexplicable and irrational, but entirely in keeping with their general level of custodianship of the game.

You'd be very wise to stop taking any notice of my nonsense, as you believe it's not a red. You do you.

Just heard the Mikel Arteta chant (y'know, the one that briefly includes Dom Solanke) ...honestly, dislike my opinion all you want, but I think it's fucking shit, totally pointless, and makes Spurs fans sound like dicks for singing it!

There's literally NO NEED to include that fucking Lego Head in a song about OUR PLAYER!

It doesn't even scan rhythmically... That's the worst part!

Please let's give Dom another song! (Wasn't that a Kai Havertz song ANYWAY???) 😳🙄
Jeez, and we wonder why everyone hates us!

Loved the Dele chant and Ozil being in there will always be relevant but Arteta might not even be at the scum for long and he's never getting remembered as relevant to the rivalry.

tbh I actually like the B'muff chant for Solanke and would have just pinched that one. But then again, I'm almost never at games so I can probably fuck off :davieshmm:

Still, the Solanke chant we have rn is shit.

It’s because now he might go on to score the winner against villa.

Just like how the minute joe Linton wasn’t sent off for clothes lining the Brentford keeper and therefore could play against us it was obvious he’d to something to majorly effect the game.

Officiating cock ups or changes doesn’t just effect the one match but those afterwards. I bet the villa fans will be livid if that happens and he scores against them because I think it should have stayed a red card rather than undermining the ref.

Finally got round to watching the whole game. That was probably the worst I've seen them play since we spanked them (6 - 1 was it?) and one of the best games we've played in recent years. We won't be getting that sort of chance against the other big teams on a regular basis, that's for sure.

Why would it ALWAYS be relevant? As soon as a player leaves a club (ESPECIALLY an opposing club) it stops being relevant...

Imagine if Arse fans sung about Van der Vaart, or Christian Eriksen??
It's a nonsense!

The differing levels of success PROBABLY have something to do with it, but come on, I don't wanna hear the names of ANY of their Scum cunt players... Especially in songs that are SUPPOSED to be about OUR players!!

FUCKING IGNORE THEM!

They're SO desperate for recognition, relavence and acknowledgement...
Don't people realise that giving them NONE hurts WAY more?

Because Ozil is a cunt who loves to Spurs bait and always did. And he was a massive flop for them.
