Yea need to take a break from other football media for a few days.
Nothing remotely positive for us can come from this debacle.
Worse thing is 3 days after manure draw 0-0 with bar codes we make them look like world beaters and the media are lapping them up. They are now back and going in the right direction under ETH blah blah blah. As if the media don’t already have a lovin with manure we give them even more ammunition. Neil fat boy Custis from The Sun will be loving it. Mind you even if we beat them it would still be about them and how much of a poor side they are with billions spent.

He hardly inspires and confidence in the players which is another problem. I know some don’t like klopp but at least he play his youngsters and isn’t afraid to bench players or sub them. Just image how he would treat spence. Instead saying his not ready or he was a club signing he would big him up and make him feel wanted and that he is good. Instead he knocks the stiffing out of them concentrating on negatives or that they can’t do this or that. It’s just like Jose’s throwing them under the bus but in a more sly way. Same as his BS about not being able to compete. The ducking bar codes held them to 0-0.
yea i hear what youre saying. he probably thinks the way hes treated spence is in a way to get him to work hard in training and work hard on his game, tough love sort of thing.

while we have got some good players in with strong mentalities we still have some of the soft core there from the spursy days. tough love isnt the way to go with them they are very delicate lol. im a fan of the tough love to be honest because you want players who react to that and pride kicks in rather than it put them further in their shell.

My guess is Conte will bail the minute he starts getting found out for being too much a chequebook manager.
Found out? His had a fair bit to spend already plus what we purchased start of 21/22 season like royal whom he idolises. Spent enough to have been able to produce better quality football. Although think richarlison was a mistake for the money we paid.
I’d also like to see white and Alfie given chances.

We can point out our shit players just like anyone else. Royal is shit. Doc is slightly less shit.

Conte is a great manager, but not a miracle worker. He can't bring on someone to change the game if the option is just more shit.

We'll never have everyone fit at the same time, so we need depth and that isn't about throwing money around, it's about attracting young, cheap talent and nurturing it. If he sticks around, maybe he can do that, but since we're not city we won't be buying it in in bulk.

I think we're two top players off the top. Especially RWB. Maybe Spence will turn up, maybe we get one in Jan. Then we'll see.
Conte worked wonders with the most expensive squads in Italy and England first with juve then Chelsea then inter. Bit like Gérard winning in Scotland would have been amazing had he done it with atalanta napoli and us - but no chance.

Hoj is the biggest problem we have after Royal and he was shown up badly v utd. So slow, so poor with the ball. If conte can't see that then he ain't all that great. I somehow can't see us being so poor without him.

But even then, it has been this shocking shit tactic when losing the ball in midfield of simply Turing round and jogging back to our own 18 yard line. Not trying to win the ball back, not pressing just surrendering - that's contes tactics. I'm gonna have to back klopp and pep when it comes to this sort thing.. Fn even shiteta

I'll be honest just like many who go away, we've been doing it for years.

But given the cost of living crisis I'm genuinely thinking about whether it's worth going to aways given the abject performances they put in. Might call me a jinx but I don't see it that way as obviously I don't have a direct influence on the game, but I've been to Lisbon, Frankfurt and United this season. Scored 0 goals and barely managed a couple of shots on target in 3 games.

I'll lend my support to the club through thick and thin but there comes a point when you have to consider if that support is being adequately repaid. Like I said in my original post, I'm not expecting them to win every game, but at least show some fight, passion, novel ideas to play football. Surely some professional pride comes to the fore.

There are more complex reasons like tactics, player load management, injuries, player quality that influence the result but you can't tell me that a performance is acceptable.

We had no idea how to transition the ball to the forward players, kept trying to pass it around at the back and we literally got swallowed up by their press. We had Son isolated with Varane and Kane against Martinez. Why did we kick the ball at head height to Son and not Kane? Never once did we hit it over the top for Son to race Varane.

Conte looked totally bereft of ideas. The game was crying out for Skipp to come into midfield earlier to provide control. The rich and passing of the midfield 3 was terrible, it needed changing earlier but we just let game meander away. Like most tough away games we've have this season in the PL and CL. Apart from Chelsea where we were lucky to get something all other tough away games we've been well beaten including Wham.

I just want to be entertained Tottenham! There's so much to like about this club, but like we all know they'll test your resolve unlike any other team.
Fantastic post.

I love Romero, but fuck me he needs a big kick up the arse. I'm fed up with him strolling around at the back when he receives the ball, and allowing the opposition to close him down and be forced to play a shit pass to someone. It's all too slow with him.
Both him and dier do that they just pass to each other along the 6 yard line then to loris rinse and repeat. That sets the tempo and as you say allows teams to get back or press us. They then play a dangerous psss into midfield with the oppo all over us.

He isn’t but at least give him a run out when what have out there is doing dog shite? Ffs he can’t do worse. Why do people think he can’t do better than royal or Doh just bcos his from the championship I have no idea. His certainly better than royal and don’t get me started about royal knowing the conte drills and how to play. We play shite football generally and royal is an arch component of that!

Agree he must be better than Emerson but Doherty has only had a couple of games back and the manager loves him. He’ll get minutes eventually I bet.

This game is STILL irritating me 3 days later ....
The fact they beat Liverpool and Arse up there shouldn't make our result seem TOO bad.... but it feels like a missed opportunity to gain a result up there that others couldn't! (Bit like our results away at Man City/Liverpool last season...) proper statement results those were... and I felt gave us confidence going into other tricky away games.

Plus, we're STILL owed a massive slice of luck up there that hasn't materialised... The Mendes 'goal' still hasn't been rectified!! ...it's been 15+ years now!!

Swings and roundabouts my arse... some things just DON'T even themselves up... and now with VAR, I feel they never will!
