Whatever the FIFA ruling might be, Tottenham is essentially signing a contracted player as if he was a free agent.

No.... We're signing a free agent.

Fulham had him for a year last season..... No-one is giving them shit.

Instead of donating £100,000 from the friendly, Spurs should pony up an appropriate amount to a range of Ukrainian charities in Donetsk.

There’s a lot of fist-shaking on here about how THFC really “belongs” to the fans not the management. But in this case there are no qualms about dodging the chance to help the Ukrainian people in an appropriately reciprocal way.

This is not about 'The Ukraine People'.... It's about Shaktar Donetsk; a football club that routinely qualifies for the CL and thus rakes in millions of pounds per year.

Any money we give them isn't going to charity.

Your view on this is completely out of whack.

I think there’s been a miscommunication. Perhaps I wasn’t clear in my post. I’m not saying pay Shakhtar.

I’m saying compensate the community of Donetsk, i.e. the people.

That's how I read it in the first place. You're still barking up the wrong tree..........

Let's assume Spurs (fans or club) feel the need to donate money to Ukraine..... WDF has that got to do with Shaktar or Manor Solomon..... In what context does "appropriate reciprocation" come into play?

There's no legit reason to bellyache the club over this.

You've also had a subtle dig at the fans for being hypocritical.

You said Spurs were behaving "shamelessly"...... .Why? You still haven't said.

Meanwhile; we could donate 10m to the Ukraine people but it's not likely to get Shaktar off of our backs; asking for compensation.

I hadn't realized he was so short until yesterday, but he's a pocket rocket. Looking forward to seeing more.
Short…….

Also Lazybones Lazybones - What are you and the PL club that you support doing for the people of Ukraine?

By offering to pay Shakhtar a “sell-on fee”, Spurs implicitly acknowledges that Solomon is a player under contract, whatever the FIFA ruling. The fee is intended to compensate the owners of Shakhtar for the undischarged portion of the contract.

I’m suggesting that the more moral thing to do is simply donate an appropriate amount to charities that benefit the people of Donetsk. That way, the true owners of the club, the fans/people benefit, Russian oligarchs don’t and Spurs makes good its tacit recognition that it’s getting a contracted player for free.

I don’t see how what Fulham is or isn’t doing about Ukraine (not as much it could), has any bearing on what Spurs should do. Two wrongs, as they say, don’t make a right.

No... They're not..... That's just what you want it to be.

Maybe we decide to sort them out some money in good conscience (or to avoid unduly bad PR from people like you wagging your finger); If so, that should be praised cos we don't have to.

Third time of asking........ What is "shameless" about Spurs's conduct?

When you're ready; seeing as you're moralising so hard & judging Spurs and their fanbase; you can answer the other question you appear keen to dodge:

That wasn't the point being made to you. Spurs have done nothing wrong......

You know, I think you and I are unlikely to have a useful discussion here.

I have not and am not judging Spurs’ fan base (amongst whom I increasingly include myself). I am judging Spurs’ management, but that doesn’t make me unique on this board.

Perhaps we should just agree to disagree.

That's very much cos, ultimately, you're ducking the point that caused me to post to begin with.

You called us shameful and you refuse to qualify that statement.

Your OG post did both. You accused the fans of hypocrisy.

Off to a good start, no surprise Ange likes him.

I don’t get it, how can you play FPL while you are a player of some club? I heard that 3 Burnley players had Haland in their FPL lineup and they were playing against him.

I started playing FPL this season, only because we are in the rebuild and I don’t expect us to br fighting for top 4. Still, I don’t have any Woolwich, United, or Chelsea players.

Lol what do you expect to happen? Those Burnley defenders willingly let Haaland score so it helped their FPL team?!

He was outstanding when he came on. Absolutely violated Shaw with a silky little turn, put some quality balls in. His work-rate is excellent, quick, darty player and composed with the ball at his feet.

He really looks like he could be fantastic player.

I'd like to see him start over Kulu. Whilst Kulu is improving he hasn't done anything in the last 6-12 months to prove he is undroppable.

Solomon is a tricky pacey winger and who doesn't love watching them buzz about

Only had a few touches and showed quality. If not picked to start, with kulu not locking down the job, would be nice to see Solomon get a good run of 30 minutes against Bournemouth.
