It is reported that there is no buy clause in the agreement. Which is quite weird.

By how things have unfolded recently, it is pretty clear we don't see him a role in the squad. Why just send him on loan with even no option (not to mention obligation) to buy?!? Just purely hoping that his value would raise while he plays there?

Stench of poor planning surrounding that whole saga.

He was obviously bought to be flipped - I reckon his injuries put a lot of clubs off him because why would a player who was playing CL football a few seasons ago only be worth a loan with no obligation to a Championship team - that's us pushing him out to get game time so we can probably sell him for profit next Summer.

buy clause options isn't necessarily good for the seller. Right now Solomon wouldn't be valued very highly so the option would have been low. Should he perform well for Leeds the likelihood is that we'd selling for a low option price.

obligations of course protect the seller far more but nobody would take him on an obligation with his horrendous injury record.

Buy option can be discussed. It doesn't need to be very low, cause it is an option not an obligation.
So buying club could also agree to higher level of it and then exercise it only if player has strong season.

It would have been incredibly dumb to loan with a low obligation.
The only issue is his fitness. His ability is proven.
If he stays fit next season and does well we have the option of keeping him or getting a decent fee.
