So we played AZ in the Europa League last year and they gave us a game if I remember rightly. Now they're trying to qualify for the Conference in July, while we're straight into the league stage of the CL We really did have a sliding doors moment in Bilbao didn't we?
Imagine if Spurs were in AZ's position - trying to play a game against a team who might be miles below them but in their mid season versus AZ or Spurs likely to have only played a couple of preseason games to try to regain some pre-season fitness.
That type of game could be a real leveller of skill v fitness
Maybe unlucky for St Pat's but Kaliju also in mid season, having just beaten Partizan Tirana so will be a tough match for them.
Brace for Melia today, the 17yo is up to 9 goals now in the LOI this season.
