Fabrizio Romano reveals Tottenham’s plans for Mathys Tel

Even though the on-loan Bayern Munich man is yet to show Spurs fans what he can do, Ange Postecoglou is convinced that Tel will prove a success at Spurs.

Romano has now explained that the decision-makers at Hotspur Way are very happy with the Frenchman’s attitude and his potential, and they trust him to become a real asset for the club.

When asked what the feeling at Spurs is about Tel, Romano told GiveMeSport: “For Mathys Tel, they’re very happy with the boy, with the attitude, with the potential they see in this boy, and that’s why they were fighting for weeks to sign him in January.

“And at the moment, their indication remains, as Postecoglou always says, that they trust him also for the future. Then let’s see what happens.”

Ange literally stated months back that he wss at the forefront of the recruitment being young players with potential but these players need more experience around them and that the next windows we will be adopting a different approach.

If Ange is still here in the summer and we go youth again (Tel, Dibling etc) i absolutely guarantee he will use his usual slimeball tactics and distance himself when things go tits up again.

Fuck this fraud manager off first and then target fucking experience first and foremost. If we have money left after then by all means get more potentially good players.

I get that it’s not the most rational take and I’m no football scout but that Fulham game and the amount of touches and shots he had vs UTD tell me this is a player we don’t want to let go.

But no matter who the coach is, we need senior, ready now, starting 11 players this summer.

Stay or go back?

I don't know. Has shown glimpses but not enough.

I'm leaning towards keeping him. But I'm far from sure.

Not a bloody chance you pay that fee based on what he’s done so far. He’s obviously talented but that’s nuts.

If they want to loan him again and we keep an option to buy sure, but I doubt they will do that.

We may well end up regretting it but we’re not in a position to spend 60m on another kid unless they’re having big impact now.

We need him to play shit till end of the season...no one else interested in him then we snap him up cheap?

Ballon D'or 2027!

Yeah we shouldn’t be paying £60m for players that have no track record at a high level.

If Tel were £10m like Bergvall then that’s fine but this squad needs experienced quality players to improve, not more raw young players. We have enough of those already.

If Tel doesn’t show more in these last few weeks then it makes no sense to buy him. Another loan maybe.
