Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think had Poch been in charge last night and we went 1-0 down the guarantee would've been we would've thrown everything at Sheffield utd to not just equalise but go on and look for a winner
Thats what i loved most about Pochettino being in charge the fear factor from the opposition teams and fans in last nights type of competition if Sheffield utd had of come away winning 1-0 there fans would've been begging for that final whistle to blow
we could walk away knowing we gave everything

All a bit rose tinted......

WH at home?
Colchester?
Palace?
Ghenk?
.....A number of other domestic & European cup stinkers?

There were many flat first halves too.

Well obviously he had hiccups along the way but i'd sooner watch a team that continously trys to be on the front foot then watch this pile of shit
Thats why ive been watching Brighton alot this season and pretending its spurs im watching coz it beats reality
With the squad of players that we have right now at Conte's disposal we should be dominating most opposition we face if he chose to actually play to our strengths which should be attack attack attack

If you look at the players we have - especially attacking wise - you can't help but think they would thrive under Poch.

I get Poch had his issues but, if he would come back, I'm all for it now.
.

I want to look forward to watching Spurs again!

Bored of Conte ball now. Full respect to his honours and all that, but it's not as if he's a magician, the football is mostly ugly.

Come back Poch. At least he loves the club and will get the team playing more freely.

You can do this for any manager though.

Hmmmm, I'd argue not so... They're not isolated incidents; which was my point all along. Very few of our cup exits were to bigger, better teams apart from the semis/finals.

It amounts to a lot of our cup games when you start adding it all up.

Don't forget; we're talking about a man whom to his own admission had little respect for the domestic cups.

Poch had his faults, but no one could argue that we weren't entertained.....

3 out 5 season, sure; but my points wasn't to do with "entertainment" either.

This cup stuff is just a hot topic atm (understandably), but people seem to forget we've made the final and semi or the LC in the past 2 seasons.

If people want Poch back despite any of his flaws, I get it and there's not really a debate to be had if said flaws are acknowledged. I just think the rose-tinted view does no-one any favours cos it'll set hm an unreasonable bar too cos he isn't gonna arrive and be that guy.

I agree about his stance on the cups, you're right, but he was being dictated to by Levy to prioritise League, then Champs league as we all know.

There's so much doom and gloom around the club at the moment, i just think for all his faults he would give the place a lift and as long as he sorts the defence and midfield out in summer then we should be in for some fun times.

The two things weren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

Yes, his job said to prioritise top 4, that doesn't mean to discard the importance of the cups altogether........ YET he also of his own volition openly said "[domestic] cups are just for egos"..... and constantly said "we fight for the chance to compete for big things"..... It was clear that his vision never looked past winning the league or CL.

Sure..... For a lot of people it would lighten the mood, and again I emphasise that this isn't an anti-Poch pitch on my part; but "as long as he sorts the defense and midfield out in summer"..........? Well that could be said with regard to most potential managers(*).

(*That said things are starting to shift IMO.... There are more question marks on the horizon regarding our attack than our MF......... Benta, Biss, PEH, Skipp, Sarr + potentially Kulu is our strongest dept.)

It is, but as a hypothetical question, if i asked you which 2 of those you would get rid of to fit in 2 flair players, i bet you'd scratch your head as they are all much of a muchness. Maybe Benta is everyone's number one, but if we go to a 3 in midfield, would love a Maddison in there for creativity.

Depending on what system we play a CAM/#10-type isn't high on my list.

352 or 433 then I'd be happy with:

Skipp (DM)
Biss (B2B*) ----------------- B'cur (B2B*)

(*Also see Sarr, PEH, Kulu)

4231 then yeh, we need a trad CAM/#10 type.

We need more technical players in midfield I think. What we have is all pretty similar. Poch and I think 70% of managers would want players who can keep hold of the ball, pass and move well etc.

TBH, I haven't got the energy for predictions of who and how tbh..... Just looking at things based on what we know.

If I had my way we'd have switched to 352 some time ago... Especially now we just blew a stack on Porro (also see Spence) and Perisic & Sessengon have both struggled (as were Doh & Emerson previously)..... Beef up the middle and fully unleash the WBs.
