Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If we able to prise Ramos in 2007 then there is no question we could get Simeone in 2017. Liverpool acquired Klopp despite their league placing and their financial postion so let’s not underplay ours. And let’s not pretend we are financial paupers as well, we made Ramos one of the highest paid managers in the game.
Haha, Ramos, I think you spiked your own guns there pal. Who's his current club again? Oh yeah, Free Agent. US team aren't they? And paying the manager is the least of it, the likes of Ancelotti won't consider going anywhere without a substantial war chest to spend on transfers. Another thing that makes MP special.

Ramos’s postion now has no bearing on his postion in 2007. When we approached him he was arguably the hottest managerial talent in Europe after winning 2 UEFA cups, a UEFA Super cup and a Copa Del Rey at Sevilla. As for Ancelotti, well I would be interested to know why he would state that he would have taken the Tottenham job in 2012 but somehow not now when our revenues have increased significantly since then. It will be interesting to see the suggestions when Poch does actually move on because if you listen to some we don’t have the resources to attract anyone of note.

Obviously we need to improve away against the top 6, but I dont believe this is what stopping us from winning the league, for instance the team with the best record against the top 6 last season was Liverpool, and we lost 2-0 today, last season the champions lost 3-0 in the same fixture.

True, but they were also something like 10 points clear by Christmas. In terms of getting close to the league this season, we had to beat United and Woolwich away and even then we would still have had ground to make up over winter. I don't think we lose these matches due to lack of player ability either.

As I said during our pathetic spendthrift transfer window, where we stood still while all around us were spending money to strengthen their teams, a few poor results and the happy clappers would be on our managers back while the untouchable one again gets a free ride.. Lay of Poch, the guy's working fucking miracles in a financial straitjacket compared to our rivals
There’s no button to both agree and disagree simultaneously. Considering how often I do it when reading one of your posts, I think the button should just be your avatar and everyone would know what it meant.

If I was queen, I would send the doubters to the Bloody Tower.
You get my vote Mrs P. Should we refer to you as Your Majesty or would plain old Ma'am do?

People say all kinds of things, point is he went to PSG instead. £££. I'm no expert on finances but my understanding is we're going to be on a pretty tight leash for several years paying off the new stadium.

I spelt Clouseau incorrectly oh the horror. And you know full well you do, every time I enter into a debate that Joe Clash notification pops up. Now if you had anything of note to add I wouldn’t mind but it’s largely ad hominem or endless complaints about how I shouldn’t be saying such a thing. It has now seemingly moved onto spelling.

Listen I want my viewpoint challenged, I want differing opinions to mine, I want debate. What I don’t want is this mindless drivel you and some others engage in, It’s tiresome and unproductive.

I challenged your views on our priorities and you were completely unreceptive to every point I made. I’m sorry, but you don’t want debate, you want to post in a vacuum. It’s typical that you dismiss any opinion other than yours as ‘mindless drivel’ when I and others have tried to engage you in debate, but it’s pointless. The only voice you hear is your own. You’re not unpopular on here because you make dazzlingly insightful points that others struggle to comprehend (I understand you’re not trying to be popular btw) but because of your prissy, negative posting style, and the timing of your posts - always after a defeat. I have yet to read a post of yours, after a good performance, that praises the manager or the team. You meet opposition on here because you’re not even-handed.

Mourinho’s record in that department is even worse. Fact is it’s very difficult playing away against the top 6.

First thing that came to my mind when this whole discussion came up. He might be a cunt, but he's usually a winning cunt. 'Don't get beat' away from home against your title rivals is usually good enough.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't hope for better, nor be fucked off with the poor performance we saw on the pitch today, but people need to realise that they're getting played by the football pundits over this. If I recall correctly, it used to be our record against the top 6 full stop that was criticised until we began winning more and more of those games at home. Always shifting the goalposts.

- top 6 away wins
- silverware

They're the talking points when the press wants to have a pop. In the last two seasons, I can only think of this Emirates performance and Anfield as the ones that let the club down. We've lost narrowly to United (twice) and Chelsea in that timeframe, but those were good performances with a one-goal margin of loss.

Fucking hell, do we need to get that money/wages spent graph again to highlight how well we're doing relative to our means? Demanding away wins against the top 6 is a way to build us up to knock us down. Patience FFS.

No need to worry about the press, our ‘fans’ will be on our case before Martín Samuel has put his pies down.

That's what makes me nervous though. As much as we might laugh at media bias or cliched talking points, a heck of a lot of our fans buy into it (whether they're already getting frustrated or not). How often do we end up in conversations about silverware after that become the default narrative in the middle of last season? It'll be the same sodding thing with away wins against the top 6 now...

Entitlement makes me uneasy. Fine line between that and ambition. If we demand the moon on a stick then we'll become like the plastic fanbases of the classic Sky 'top 4'.

We’re no different. You and I might be, but our fans in general are just as bad as anyone’s. Entitled pricks. Just look at the posts today.

Anyway this is depressing me so speak later.

Sorry Joe. At least it's not a long wait to see our boys try to tie the group up against Dortmund.
:dierpochhug:

Also, of all the teams for our players to want to beat the ever-loving-shit out of to make atonement for the NLD performance, West Brom would be a particularly satisfying choice.

How surprsing to see you pop up suddenly

How did your barbecue with all your gooner mates go? Never has a post revealed more. Please stop pretending you’re Spurs. I can just see you knocking back another bottled water, whilst polishing your 15 year old beemer with a smug satisfied smile on your gooner mooey. You’ve been found out so many times it’s beyond a joke. What Spurs fan would invite the opposition round for a party? As if you’ve got any mates anyway - gooners or human.

Ha, no worries TLD. My local is open until 2. I’m going there now to have a few beers and forget about today. I suggest you do similar. Cheers!

You mean the graphs that show how proud we're meant to be
of our unparalleled successful business model?
Pull out all the graphs you like mate, 4 wins in the last 86 away games v the sky 4 is a shocking statistic that suggests on the football field our business model and all these fucking graphs aint really nothing to crow about

Levy didn't tell Tripper to not cross the halfway line yesterday, or drop Winks

See my post above. 4 away wins in 86 attempts!
You can't keep blaming the manager when so many have tried and failed to go away to the top teams and compete.
There's a common denominator here that you and many others will always fail to acknowledge. But you'll always find a scapegoat. Be it Harry, BMJ, God, or Poch and the rest

Yes the usual mindless drivel, the ad hominem postings and endless complaints about other posters as I mentioned before. And to counter this accusation you go and post the following. Classic.

It’s indicative of a general behaviour with you and I am growing increasingly bored of it. If you must insist on following me around can you please actually read my posts ( in this very thread I have stated that Poch is the best manager I have seen during my time following the club) and try to actually engage in a discussion and if you cannot defend your viewpoint with any vigour then refrain from this juvenile appproach.
