I won't lie and say that I think we shouldn't expect more in the first two or three years, but I just really want to see us back to playing exciting, open, fast-paced football. It was how we played with AVB, winor lose, that droveme crazy.
Seems the Saints fans are rapidly turning on Poch....!

So Mauricio Pochettino is now the Tottenham manager – words that inspire feelings of betrayal and disappointment as I write them.
Throughout his reign as Saints boss, the Argentinian struck me as a man of honour, someone who stuck steadfastly to his footballing philosophies and who rallied the players to like his style of management.
He even refused to bow to the demands of the media to speak English in press conferences, despite the fact that he can speak the language well.
The announcement of his defection to Spurs has effectively made Pochettino a total hypocrite in my eyes – a man who walked away as soon as he got the chance, a man who only had his best interests at heart, rather than those of our club, our players or the supporters.
He kept up a front for week after week in interviews; ‘I’ve got a year left on my contract, I’m not interested in rumours, I’m waiting for the new plan from the board blah blah blah’. All of that was total nonsense in hindsight. He was desperate for a move to a bigger club.
We’ve got to forget about Pochettino and focus on the future as we have before
Tottenham fans will find this out for themselves in a year or two if he does well; a bigger club than them will come calling and he’ll jump ship again. Either that or he will fail to meet the ambitions of the chairman Daniel Levy and get sacked as so many others have done before him.
It must be said that Pochettino did do an excellent job at St Mary’s but was it one that has really merited such a move? I’d argue not.

We finished eighth with a record Premier League points tally for the club, which was a fantastic achievement. But I’m sure with the group of extraordinarily talented young players we have that another quality manager would have delivered a similar result.
Of the three signings that he made, only Dejan Lovren can be considered a success at this point, with Victor Wanyama plagued by inconsistency and Dani Osvaldo a total disaster.
So I’m certainly not going to spend a great deal of time stewing over Pochettino leaving us.
Like many Saints fans, I was genuinely gutted when Nigel Adkins was sacked - but we moved on and improved. When Alan Pardew went and was replaced by Adkins in 2010, we thought our club was on the downturn – and yet we achieved back-to-back promotions.
So I think we’ve got to forget about Pochettino and focus on the future as we have before, and trust in the board to make an appointment that will continue to take Saints forward. They’ve also got to stay strong and stop Spurs from poaching our players as well – because that’s something no Saints fan could stomach.
But I’m hopeful that they will get it right and that Tuesday will not mark the end of the rise of Southampton. Because that really would be worth getting upset about."

No different to some of the drivel around here when Bale, Modric, Berbatov, etc, all left

The bigger clubs tend to screw the smaller clubs - circle of 'life' for better or worse
Funny though how so many people try to pretend it isn't like that. All the Liverpool fans thinking thye kept Suarez when if RM really wanted him they could get him it's just Bale is better.
If they were offered the kind of money we were offered for Bale - pretty sure would have soldFunny though how so many people try to pretend it isn't like that. All the Liverpool fans thinking thye kept Suarez when if RM really wanted him they could get him it's just Bale is better.
The very same bell-ends who would, if offered a better job tomorrow morning, jump ship quicker than you can say 'I'm a hypocritical cunt'Funny though how so many people try to pretend it isn't like that. Its not about leaving the club....there are ways of going about it.
Im not sure why people still cant draw the distinction. Poch left Southampton.
He didnt shit on them to do it.

I hope he has a stormer of a WC and gets poached in the summer - oh, the poor 'victims'
Imagine a front 3 of
Bale...........Ronaldo
........Suarez
Has nothing on
Bale could have left better no question, pochettino was always gonna leave at some point this season or next, agree he didn't shit on them in the same way bale did somewhat with us but the football food chain is just part of life.
Yup, do for me.

Right, so he didn't do anything that special that another manager couldn't do, he managed to bring in only one quality player, and he didn't do anything good enough to merit a move to us, BUT he's still disappointed and feeling betrayed by the move. Got it.
