This time last week Poch was the bookies favourite by far, no-on else was really in the frame. Probably because it has been made public for some time their president really likes our manager and has done significant business with Spurs in the past.

Then fast forward a week and you now get better odds on Conte but out of nowhere Wenger is 2nd favourite with odds almost the same as Poch.

Conte can sit tight and get 9m when Chelsea get rid of him, so Wenger is the easy appointment to make.

Madrid never think long term and a 2 year contract for him would give them time to really start the campaign to get Poch there.

As everyone keeps saying pressure will be on Poch next couple of seasons to win things at Spurs. But I truly believe Madrid won't care if he doesn't win stuff, reality is they see us far behind United, Woolwich, Chelsea and City yet under Poch we have been competing, improving and playing some great football.

I am nervous Poch will go, of course, RM always have that pulling power.
I don’t think he will though, from reading the book, he really doesn’t seem the sort of person to walk out after all the hard work he has put in. Especially since RM have won 3 CL in a row, how do follow that? Pep’s time at Bayern was seen as a failure for not winning it.

I’m calling horseshit on the “surprise” from Perez. With Madrid’s league performance this year, rumors have been swirling that Zidane may be on the outs for months. And if all the talk about the players turning against him are true, then this decision was likely mutual consent.

In any case, if Madrid had any interest in Poch they would have backchanneled with his people long ago to gauge his interest. I can’t believe Poch would sign an extension given the circumstances if he was truly interested in the Madrid job.

Besides, now is the worst time to go to Madrid. How do you follow 3 CL titles in a row? Madrid goes through managers every 2-3 years - if they like him so much then the job will be open again sometime in the future.

I would think that if Poch has gotten assurances of increased financial support from Levy, wouldn’t you want to stick it out a few more seasons and see if you can prove that your system works? That he built a team his way and won? If he wins a title with Spurs he’s a club legend. At Madrid, he’d be a footnote.

We've just signed Poch to a five year deal (no there aren't any daft release clauses) whereas the dippers only have Klopp on 3/4 years .... hmmmmm

Bookies have Wenger and Conte as the front runners .... with Chelsea falling apart I think Conte is a good shout .... if by some miracle they get Poch then we should go for Conte or Zidane, but that won't happen ....
