Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

All I think is that he can't preside over such losses and stay for much longer.

Maybe he is actually right to question his tenure because maybe he knows some people are.

Is it just that he feels he is not good enough or that how will the players keep believing progress alone is success?

If Liverpool or Woolwich win silverware this season then it won't be made easier.

having dwelt on it i'm sure his comments are just him doubting himself. he hurts when he makes mistakes and it's immediately after the game. He's aware of the Wenger Woolwich situation and won't allow his good work to be undone in a similar way. I also think he's sold his belief that winning will come, to the players, so if that does not come to pass then the players may begin to doubt him. But I think he'll realise he just needs to adapt and learn how to win these sorts of games by changing his approach.

Interesting that last season and this season Mauricio has taken a stand to assert his authority on the squad.

Stopped using Walker last season. Now leaves out Alderweireld. Played Son at LWB last season.

It’s ok to take a stand... but Conte and Jose have made Cup finals.

Worst possible thing to happen for him because the pressure to win something will be absolutely massive.

Can he change his approach ? what did he do when we bottled it 2 seasons ago when we came third in a two horse race ?,

I think Poch should stay if he gets top 4. But he does need to change something going forward, perhaps he needs to be more accommodating to those who upset him, more pragmatic in terms of winning first, performance second and there seems to be a need to get something nasty back into the team?

What I found very odd yesterday was how passive we seemed to be once it went 1-1. The gas just went and I felt we were a little bit bullied. Where as in Poch’s second season especially we would always seem to be “up for a fight” is that what has regressed?

Poch will get it right one day, but if the coach and players throw away 4th from that commanding position then sorry, it’s bye bye time.

He would be on seriously thin ice with Levy if he pulled a Redknapp.

I don’t see much difference at the moment between Harry’s Spurs or Poch’s. Because Poch followed Dim Tim and AVB he seems to get cut some slack, but least we forget Harry had Spurs in the same position as Poch - although it feels more sustained with Poch, Poch has better players overall.

I saw the similarities a few seasons ago, it’s same strategy as before, it’s the same preoccupation with CL qualifcation and the same almost derisory attitude to the cups. His realistic comments yesterday had a air of ‘as good as it gets’ to them. What grates the is level of vitriol directed when this was ever mentioned or that such a similar strategy could only result in the same outcome. I have never seen a manager in my time who so many supporters absolutely refused to critique or accept any one else doing this.

Hr wants to get that sh!t about leaving out of his backside.

Pochettino needs to use his time in the first instance on getting the team mentally and physically ready for Watford. Aim 1. No fcuking about and if that means dropping Kane so be it.

Then he has to spend the summer getting the right 2 or 3 players - maybe 4 if 1 or 2 leave that help and improve the squad.

Then it's messages and action. He has to take tougher decisions on players. Be firmer in his actions and sometimes quicker to react.

He is not a young manager but he is young to the development of being a serial winner.

Sport is srewn with people or teams who get there eventually but who use their suffering not to give up but to find the little changes and tweaks that are needed.

Part of it is being given money to buy identified targets but a bigger part is knowing where and why you just fall short.

If he leaves without guiding us to silverware of any sort he may never regain the opportunity.

Poch is going nowhere

Win the game of football yesterday the media would be saying they should build a statue of him outside for his ongoing achievement competing in top 6 with a small budget. Lose and now it’s disaster!!

Getting really tired of the whole thing now to be honest, why can’t we enjoy it as a sport anymore instead of just a constant source of stress?

Maybe the time for change has arrived. Perhaps we should be looking at someone who has succeeded at the top level. Someone who has recently become available?

Yes maybe but Pochettino himself talked of hero status if we won the Champions League which was always improbable at best.

Losing to a Mourinho side is no disaster and no shame. The guy is just the master of one-off games, somehow being able to eke out collective performance either equal to or better than the individual parts time and time again. I knew when we drew them it would be a tall order to prevail.

So the narrative is extreme but the top of the Premier et al is like that. It is a drama in itself.

4 competitions to win and the judgement is pretty much win something and you are doing well, don't and it's doom and gloom.

We have punched above our weight for 3 years. I suppose it is no more than the nature of the beast.
