It's going to be Manu isn't it?

Still can't believe Chavs let him go. If you look at his results since Feb 4th (2-4 home loss to wolves) the only bad result was getting thumped by goons 5-0. Everything else was fine and they were on the up.

It'll be a shame if he goes to the manks. He'll be better than ETH. But hopefully not until the season after next.

Hope he goes to Bayern

I hope he ends up at Bayern.

From the outside, it'll be cool to see the reunion of Kane and Poch (...and Dier). I'll also actually enjoy watching Bayern games now that the negative wank Tuchel serves up is gone.

Doubt he'll go to United. They're an absolute banter club and somehow in a far worse position that Chelsea.

He fucked up by going to Chelsea imo. Although it was funny as fuck listening to the Chelsea fans rage over the interview he gave at the start of the season where he essentially said he loves Spurs, he'll always love Spurs, that we're a special club etc. I'm happy to just write last season off as a trolling exercise on his part. Just as long as he doesn't go to anymore of our rivals.
I think if Poch goes to Bayern, Kane stays, and helps put the band back together (wasn't there talk of Trippier going there too recently?)
If Kompany ends up there, then I really don't see the point, as Kompany has nothing on his CV (management wise) to justify it as anything other than a PR exercise....

Other than being a great player, that's rarely been converted into great managers (as Gerrard, Souness, Lampard, Hoddle, Ardiles can testify!)

Yeah, it's a well-studied area. People being very good at things bears no correlation on whether they are any good at all at managing or nurturing/teaching those things to others.

"Those that can't do, teach" <- this is bullshit.
"Those that can do, can teach" <- this is also bullshit.

Both are difficult, being very good at both is highly unlikely.

I also like baseball and some of the greatest players of all time weren't good managers.

Don't think United are in a worse position at all. They've got the massive legitimate revenues to spend near City's level year in and year out without running afoul of FFP, basically the only club in England that can do so. They just can't stop fucking up the managerial appointment (I don't think hiring Poch is the right choice, either, mind you).

Meanwhile Chelsea blew through their FFP runway, and already played their Saudi trump card to no effect. Now they're jammed up without a lot of options and spinning the managerial wheel yet again.

If you offered me both clubs, I'd choose United (and not just because fuck Chelsea, but fuck Chelsea), and I imagine anyone else would as well.

United have to replace Maguire, Evans, Varane ,Casmeiro and Eriksen due to age.

They also have to replace Anthony ,Martial and Onana due to shitness.

They also have to replace Malacia and Shaw due to reliability in regards to injury record.

They also can't rely on Martinez and Mount to stay fit.

They also can't rely on Sancho due to him being discarded, Rashford to stay in form, Amrabat who won't be signed and Bruno who looks like he wants to fuck off.

They are absolutely fucked beyond belief.

Good as Pochettino (I won't say traitor anymore, now he has left that filth) is, I simply do not see it.

He is below Klopp, Guardiola and Ancelotti,, as in I don't think he would have done what they have done with the same resources.

Despite being fucked beyond belief, they finished 6 points off us, 3 points of Chelsea who it's claimed they're in far worse a boat than, and they have the legitimate income that allows them to pay world leading wages and spend £200M+ each window without coming close to the FFP line.

Lots of work to do, but it's straight forward work. Chelsea has a lot of work to do and no straight forward way to do it. They first have to find a way to disguise the dirty Saudi money and maintain the illusion that Boehly owns the club.

I used to love Poch but I do think he’s dined out on that 2016/2017 period when he had peak Kane,Son, Eriksen, Toby, Jan, Walker etc.

He’s never really got close to those heights again. Even the CL final run, we were very lucky to get to that final, the footballing gods definitely smiled on us that year.

I suspect he’ll be better off at a slightly smaller club where playing great football and developing players is rewarded rather than trophies.

how exactly is it straight forward work? they literally might have to replace a whole starting 11 (minus maybe 2 positions). They also have an ageing squad and lots of injury prone players and players not giving a fuck. They also reportedly have a limited budget.

Ratcliffe's takeover came with a £235M equity injection - that's cleared the dead money off their FFP books and they're free to spend. Furthermore, if the new hard spending cap regulations are actually implemented, United's position as the legitimate financial titan in the PL will naturally lift them back up the league - same as it maintained them there before financial doping clawed them back to the pack.

United, having been rather shit for the better part of a decade, still rake in £800M in legitimate revenue. They're ≈ £200M clear of us and woolwich. City cook their books with self-funded sponsorships to run a hair over United (so they can't be accused of fraud). Chelsea try the same, but can't even justify pulling even. Liverpool have clawed evenish due to massive recent success but will fade again as the dust on their trophies grow.

United is a poisoned chalice as a manager because they expect the 90s to return. Chelsea is similar in expectations. But the manager that delivers for United will probably keep the job for a decade, Chelsea will sack you the season after winning the league. And United has the finances to keep the machine ticking, legitimately, like no other club in the country, maybe the world, once you get it humming.

United is a far better prospect than Chelsea, other than the fact you have to live in fucking Manchester.

so - back at Spurs then?
:) :)

I'm not sure if he does a worse job than Ancelotti at Everton for example. He did a better job than Ancelotti at PSG.

I realise Klopp leapfrogged him, but with FSG's recruitment I could see Poch being more successful, if he accepted being under a better sporting director.

Pep would not have achieved what Poch achieved at Tottenham because Levy was selling our best full back instead of buying the 4 best in the world.

I'd put Poch behind Sir Alex. I think he easily wins the league with Man City for 4 years.
