Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My concern is the fact Levy never backs a manager, all very well getting a manager with a system but a system often requires certain types of players hence Poch wanting Schniederlin. Dembele and much of our sqaud look completly alien to this sytem. If you want a manager like this it's simple, you must let him decide who stay and who goes so he gets the tools for the job

The alternative to that is a Pulis type manager who will just be Mr Motivator with what ever players Levy leaves him with. Problem with these managers is that they are strong people and Levy likes yes men.

I don't know what criteria they use to pick coaches, but it sure as fuck don't work. Ponch is, I have no doubt, a very talented guy, but he needs to be learning his trade elsewhere.

I fear that arguing that he needs time is close to being the excuse to allow for comfort in failure. The argument being "we are not really shit. We are in transition" " we did not get our nuts handed to us by Alan Pardew. We are simply in transition". It becomes a comfort blanket. However, the facts are we were terrible & have been in 90% of games. Whatever is masquerading as tactics is disguising nothing. That is a squad of average players with poor tactics & worse motivation. No amount of time will change that.

Ponch was never good enough to be coach of Spurs. Not the guys fault. But what facts are there that he was going to do well ? None that I can see. However, What Ponch is doing well at the moment is take a lot of heat away from the wankers in the board room. The same wankers who sold Keane & Berbatov's 50 goals to rival clubs & brought Darren Bent. Essentially cutting Ramos' throat...it's happened before. It will happen again.....

Ok so what's your solution if we are getting poch out tomorrow?

I really want this guy to suceed, like many I am so fed up with seeing another manager heading out and us being in another 'transition' season.........the signs were there early doors, we showed real character at spam away and then took QPR to the cleaners, we dug deep at Woolwich but this counts for nothing if we get turned over by teams like newcastle at home.

Some of his team choices seem very odd, i really like Kaboul but it was obvious last season against pace he has no answer, and he has been made captain and seems a dead cert to start each game, lets not forget he got away with an awful clearance in the home soton game.....he still seems an accident waiting to happen...

Considering we haven't had a manager last a minimum of four seasons since Keith Burkinshaw, perhaps we should cut the bloke some slack and hope that, after only 9 league matches, with a number of not good enough players, he will eventually be able to succeed.

I agree with you but I don't think we were turned over by teams like newcastle at home. We switched off which is unacceptable and for that the manager needs to ram a rocket up the arse's of the players and have them come out attacking teams after the break from now on.

If that doesn't happen then he needs to take action.

I'm not saying by any stretch of the imagination I could manage the team but a bit of grit and anger never hurts. Pearce isn't doing too bad, I'm sure he wouldn't allow that.

Like I said at the start I do agree with what you are saying, Kabs to me just looks like the new Daws that is easily exploited. I think he had an awesome game against the Goons but he is extremely questionable

Talking of which... I'd have him back tomorrow... any chance he might re-consider coming back to the club in some capacity?

After all, if we're gonna go for a football dinosaur, then at least let it be one of ours!
