My concern is the fact Levy never backs a manager, all very well getting a manager with a system but a system often requires certain types of players hence Poch wanting Schniederlin. Dembele and much of our sqaud look completly alien to this sytem. If you want a manager like this it's simple, you must let him decide who stay and who goes so he gets the tools for the job
The alternative to that is a Pulis type manager who will just be Mr Motivator with what ever players Levy leaves him with. Problem with these managers is that they are strong people and Levy likes yes men.
I don't know what criteria they use to pick coaches, but it sure as fuck don't work. Ponch is, I have no doubt, a very talented guy, but he needs to be learning his trade elsewhere.
I fear that arguing that he needs time is close to being the excuse to allow for comfort in failure. The argument being "we are not really shit. We are in transition" " we did not get our nuts handed to us by Alan Pardew. We are simply in transition". It becomes a comfort blanket. However, the facts are we were terrible & have been in 90% of games. Whatever is masquerading as tactics is disguising nothing. That is a squad of average players with poor tactics & worse motivation. No amount of time will change that.
Ponch was never good enough to be coach of Spurs. Not the guys fault. But what facts are there that he was going to do well ? None that I can see. However, What Ponch is doing well at the moment is take a lot of heat away from the wankers in the board room. The same wankers who sold Keane & Berbatov's 50 goals to rival clubs & brought Darren Bent. Essentially cutting Ramos' throat...it's happened before. It will happen again.....
