Can't say it was that impressive but although its the biggest cliche in football, we got the three points and after going 1-0 down. We do seem to struggle with any game plan, very bitty (don't know what the technical word is!). The thing that did disappoint me though was the way Lamela and Poch were gesturing for a red card - loved the way Harry told him to stop. Also Ryan wasn't completely innocent, but it makes a change for us to be the tough guys. Love Brad on MOTD, it was all 'we' through his punditry. Not a game for the purists but hey hoMOTD has started Mrs P. I seem to remember you said you hadn't seen the game. Huge apologies if I'm wrong.
An excellent precis - but who are these 'purists' you speak of? We're all gibbering idiots - maybe they don't support Tottenham - in fact I know they don't. Anyway we all haul our hump (cross?) about without too much complaining. Can't say it was that impressive but although its the biggest cliche in football, we got the three points and after going 1-0 down. I disagree. To me Poch is already on Plan D.
Plan A = Bring in players familiar with his style from Soton or Esp. Didn't get the players.
Plan B = Play preferred pressing style with existing players. Didn't work.
Plan C = Play with little pressing but counter attack from a deeper position. Limited success vs Woolwich
Plan D = Play with 2 strikers. Still creating little offense.
Plan E = ? I don't know what is next, Maybe go back to pressing with new players like Kane and Stambouli in. but Poch has tried many things

So in your mind, a team has to play the same way, with the same players, week in week out?
Are you one of these idiots that keeps saying "Poch doesn't know his first 11"?
Why can't we play differently against different opposition. Why can't we play the big guys against stoke and the fast guys against slower teams, etc. Thats the point of a fucking squad isn't it. If we play with the same people in the same formations every game, its not going to take long for teams to work out our weaknesses.
I swear sometimes i think I'm the only person on this board that really undertands football.
Nobody at the club trusts Poch - that much is clear. The guy's got no chance, especially with the melts that are everywhere. Poor sod.
Anthony makes a lot of good points, but that was out of character. I mean it's obvious that you're the only person on this board that knows anything about football.and there I was thinking you couldn't be any more of a jumped up deluded toe rag

I know mate, I'm paying double time for my internet just joshing with you. Good times.
That doesn't sound so terrible. I'm currently laying by myself in bed trying to fall asleep but all I can here is my roommate fucking his girlfriend that's in town in the room next door. Being single isn't much fun either.and I'm off the wife is beckoning me to watch a rom-com
oh the joys of marriage lol

Sorry mate - missed out IMO - won't happen again.
Wonder where all those Ade proven PL scorer posters from last week are? Take back everything I said about him being inconsistent, he is consistently inconsistent :adelol:Was also furious when Adebayor missed that one in the first half.
I just said it elsewhere, but I am going to repeat and expand on it here.Wonder where all those Ade proven PL scorer posters from last week are? Take back everything I said about him being inconsistent, he is consistently inconsistent :adelol:
The way we played before Kane's arrival on Sunday and at home to Newcastle league survival has to come into discussion rather than just assuming we will get into the top 10I just said it elsewhere, but I am going to repeat and expand on it here.
We've been getting frustrated that Adebayor has been starting rather than Kane in the League. But why? Over the last half decade, finishing top 4 has been the be-all for the club, and so for us as well. But if this year the club had actually made the choice to focus on the Cups, then Pochettino's been playing his best striker in the competitions which mattered the most.
The priorities for this season would have been discussed and laid out in the summer. At that point, with Liverpool still packing Suarez, and no one expecting United to still be crap, it was a very logical perspective to say, "Ok lads, this year, we'll not worry about a run at the top 4, let's focus on Cup runs since the returns would be better, especially if we won the Europa League."
And if the club's been planning and playing matches on that basis, then we're panicking over the wrong stuff. If the club doesn't care where we finish in the top 10, and instead want to win a few pots, then playing Kane in the League is a waste. I think we may be barking up the wrong tree, based on a wrong assumption, and Pochettino's crotchety response to fan and press whining about what games Kane's playing in is entirely understandable.
It would be smart of the team to actually say this to the fans, so we got off Harry and Mauricio's backs about this, but sadly, communication is probably the thing THFC does worst.
We're stuck with the squad we have until January. I think we're seeing quite a few guys who are voting with their feet as to whether they shall stay or go. If the players aren't up for the fight, no amount of coaching by Pochettino will change that. I think the patchwork quilt nature of the squad is very telling in those situations, and we'll see some of those most culpable for lacking sufficient fire and drive waiting in the Heathrow departure lounge in January. The way we played before Kane's arrival on Sunday and at home to Newcastle league survival has to come into discussion rather than just assuming we will get into the top 10ochsulk:
