Fair enough - a top manager should be able to do both. I guess it's easier to buy a type of player rather than mould one through coaching, but I'd like to see how he measures up when it comes to buying. Not sure if I'll get to see that though, so I take your point about working with what he's got.And before you are able to that, you have to coach what you have to fit your style of play, or adapt your style of play, in my opinion.
I can't find the link, but didn't he admit he got the captaincy thing wrong? That doesn't make it better I know.We also talk about a lack of leadership in the team.
i wonder what people would have said if Tim named a captain, and a third captain, then within a month dropped both from the matchday squad for the next 5 months.
What kind of influence can they possibly be having, and why havent their captaincies been revoked and passsed on to someone else.
Personally, Id prefer to see Jan, Bentaleb and Lloris as the three captains. At least they are on the pitch, and they should have some responsibilities to help them mature and grow (lloris obviously doesnt need that. hes just a pillar already).
Its actually inexplicable
Coulda gone for brobdingnagian beasts or gargantuan colossus lol
Well personally I believe that the intial captaincy choices were strategical to undermine problem players, but you're right... they shoulda been changed by nowWe also talk about a lack of leadership in the team.

True man, he is very likeable...but also Poch has showed signs of having an influence in a positive way and has got some good results.... which helps to give faith to the whole "work in progress" ethos.sammy, i think because poch is much more likeable than avb or tim, we are all a lot more softer on him. its hard not to naturally go easier on someone u like &also harder on someone u dont like. if tim or avb had done some of the stuff poch has done, we would say there idiots. poch does it & we say he is young & learning. i am guilty of this too.
agreed but if u actually look at what matters most & thats results. i think he has done worse than avb & tim.True man, he is very likeable...but also Poch has showed signs of having an influence in a positive way and has got some good results.... which helps to give faith to the whole "work in progress" ethos.
When there's tangible signs to hold on to, it's much easier to back someone
I don't think the rest of the squad are competent enough to be worth incorporating, at this point in their careers. They are either too far down the slope to perform to the required level, or are players who never could reach that level in the first place.Thats my point. We dont have the players for Pochs only and specific style of play but he has no remedy to incorperate the rest of the squad and get the best out of them in another system.
Its like people are countering my point but inadvertently supporting it with what they write.
Why would you want to give Adebayor more than 12 minutes though? He hasn't had a decent showing in about a year at this point, and isn't showing signs of improvement. He's actually showing signs of age catching up pretty dramatically. His shooting locations and volumes are terrible, he doesn't work well in the system used, and if you're not scoring enough to compensate for not being a team player, why bother?Oh I never forgot who Utd were, dont worry...I wasnt the one slating LVG pre match..
At 3-0 down he couldnt change much, because he named a bunch of players on the bench that he had no intention of using. Why Vlad over Fazio? Why paulinho over Stambouli?
However he could have given Ade an hour instead of 12 minutes....no?
They may well be discussing his options behind the scenes, but we have struggled, even in the so called b team games...because its not really a b team....because a 3rd of the squad is off the radar...capiche
Because Sherwood rated him and AVB didn't and the infidels must be shamed dailyWhy would you want to give Adebayor more than 12 minutes though? Not really. We also talk about a lack of leadership in the team.

Sherwood also played Kyle Walker as a 10 against Chelsea. I wouldn't trust him to tell me the sky was blue.Because Sherwood rated him and AVB didn't and the infidels must be shamed daily
Only Mickey boy is older than you, pleb
Didn't he also play Nacer Chadli central midfield?Sherwood also played Kyle Walker as a 10 against Chelsea. I wouldn't trust him to tell me the sky was blue.
I can't remember. I remember him saying he though Nacer could become a striker, which Pochettino seems to feel is partly true, since he lets Chadli cut in from the wing as a second striker to good effect. As the lone "big man" I don't know if that works.Didn't he also play Nacer Chadli central midfield?
:chadliwtf:
Get to know him well in the Bin? Arcy
