This.

Its exactly what I was getting at earlier. We are set up as a patchwork club....we have to be because of the constant revolving door of staff.

Everyone can play everywhere kind of thing. The problem is that we have yet to find our best front three behind Kane.

After two preseasons and a full season, we are still shunting around Lamela, Chadli, Townsend, Dembele and Eriksen. Now we are throwing Mason and Alli into the mix, and the likes of Pritchard and Carroll waiting for a space.

I think the manager should know by now who is better suited to which position, in what formation and alongside who. We just experiment on the basis that everyone in front of the back line is some kind of utility.

No wonder there is no rythm or consistency.

I agree with this and made the exact same point many times with the 3 behind under performing, I am placing most of the blame on the players here, all those you listed I just wish 2 of them would put their hand up, put in 10 consistent performances to give Poch something to hold on to

Most of these twats come in, do alright for 10 mins then disappoint. Eriksen anonymous since Wembley, we try Son out has a bad debut but then 2 of the jokes from the list Lamela and Townsend come on and make a positive impact. But you and I know damn well if Poch started either next week they would suddenly be shite again! Chadli scores some goals but does nothing else. Hopefully Alli or when Eriksen comes back one of them just puts their hand up and at least shows some consistency

Yeh it's the 3 AM's that are the issue.

We know our best team in all of the other areas, the goalkeeper, the defenders, the Dier/Mason combo, the one striker in Kane. I have no ideas what's out first 3AM's.

I am hoping this will clear up as the season goes on. Eriksen only seems to play well on the left, Lamela looks a different player in the middle and we need pace. So maybe a Eriksen-Lamela-Son combo would be an interesting experiment. Still wondering how Pritchard will do.

Basic rule in football is to play players in positions they are comfortable unless it's an emergency. The lack of balance is probably why when our defence is good our attack is shit, when our attack is good our defence is shit.

A leadership issue I think. Mason, Dier and Alli are looking like leaders. Kane also, but the pressure on him to produce is affecting his form dramatically. Absurd to burden him so.

It's the big problem area of the team, annoying because on paper, that area should be among our strongest. Chadli is annoying me right now. Townsend though just takes the piss, he came on against Sunderland making wide runs, crosses and passes like he should which is what we all want.

The second Townsend nails a place in the team down he'll go back to shooting from stupid angles into the crowd.

Bingo this is my exact problem, the back 6 is locked up now, first teamers and replacements with Mason and Bentaleb sharing. No wonder Poch likes to try Mason further forward when he can as its a guy he can actually rely on.

We have to be thankful so much deadwood was shifted on in the summer, there will be more to come after this season too. In Europa players like Pritchard have a real chance to impress like Mason did and get rewarded, as those 3 positions are up for grabs as it stands

It was pretty sweet seeing you go quiet after Masons winning goal.

Just like Mason already proved you wrong, long term Bentaleb will too. Everyone going on about that Utd goal sums up the melts in this thread.

It was an OWN goal and they still had a lot to do once the pass went astray.

You don't seem to understand do you?

Mason is playing better recently because he hasn't had to carry Bentelab who can't pass a ball properly which he doesn't have to worry about with Dier so he can get forward like he did for his goal.

I haven't gone quiet at all!

I may have done 12 yr olds a disservice when I likened you to a thick one!

Some of your posts are unbelievable!

Amusing though!

:walker-scream:

man. That is an absolutely terrible idea. It was Eriksen alongside Lamela that led to the fucking we received after Mason went off and Son left Dier so exposed he had to produce s Herculean amount of blocks and tackles to save our bacon.

That type of 3 lineup is what fucked is last season. It does not work. Eriksen, Lsmela, Son will be Eriksen, Holtby and Townsend soft Spurs.

It's been the AM's scoring.

Yes but they could do a lot of better. Chadli often disappears, Eriksen gets bullied when played in the middle and the rest don't link that well. Demeble offers a lot more grunt up there.

We never look like we support Kane properly, I know City lost tonight but if you watched David Silva, Nasri and Sterling that is how 3 AM's should operate.

System my fucking arse! ...philosophy.? what the fuck....seriously what the fuck?

All I'm seeing is a fucking mess....and to add that, chadli must have something on potch, that's all I can think, because any player who offers fuck all can keep getting selected is beyond me...

I've fucking had enough, we are a complete load of fucking wank from start to finish.

He offered 7 goals last season. He does offer goals, the hardest thing to offer in the game. But he also offers inconsistency and anonymity.

Ultimate agree.

My big issue now is that if Poch has had his clearout and picked the new players coming in then we should be hitting the ground running this season. Everybody is now saying we're in further transition, it's Poch's first season with 'his' squad. Well maybe at a wider squad level but so far, until Sunday, we've only had one new player in the starting XI haven't we? Players who have been under Poch over a year, those he deems as getting-it and buying into his way are there and they were all playing a lot from Jan/Feb.

That is what is concerning about our start and our (lack of) style. The fact we've left the squad short of quality and/or experience in C(D)M and having just one striker are huge problems that are yet to bite, doubly worrying to me.

Also, it's often noted that playing a high-line is an issue due to CBs getting caught out and not having enough pace to recover.....Poch has just bought 2 new CBs, should have been bought to play his system surely? If Dier's conversion is now key to everything then fine but, who is his deputy? If that's the mould of player you want as being integral to defensive solidity then why is there nobody to cover him? A la Kane, he can't play 50-55 games.

Two critical positions in the system; the screen for the defence and the main man up top who works alone and scores the majority of our goals.....we have one option for each and they were both here last year.

Poch doesnt know if he wants a high line or not. He doesnt know what the system is. He´s a chancer

I'm still wondering what he does at half time, does he go an have a hot dog or something....i never see any improvement in our performances in the second half.....avb for all his faults at least addressed some problems at half time, and there were improvements, but with potch there is nothing.....no subs nothing.

When I hear him keep saying the word philosophy in his interview it makes my fucking blood boil.....what motherfucking philosophy?

I'm just getting the opinion he is a fitness coach and that's it.
