If that's the case, then why is the media portraying Newcastle as needing to somehow fulfil their destiny, rather than the plucky underdogs, there to simply make up the numbers for the inevitable Liverpool procession?
...y'know, like they do whenever WE play Liverpool?

Whatever it was, it seemed to work in Newcastle's favour!

Amazing what a bit of self belief and favourable positive media coverage can achieve!

I don't read any football news - it's all speculative bullshit written by people who want free tickets & access...

There was once a time the Media was against the Football Clubs with open critic - now these scumbags care more about getting free tickets to hospitality seats, sucking off players or want to slather over training...

They're all scum - they're almost as bad a games journalists...

When asked about a contentious 85th-minute challenge from Fulham's Calvin Bassey on Lucas Bergvall inside the penalty area, Postecoglou said: "I'll leave that to the officials, but I will say that we don't carry on like a lot of other clubs and I think that hurts us for sure.
"I don't think there's ever any noise around us and decisions. We get one slightly in our favour and there's national headlines for a week."

I think he's forgetting that ANY decisions against Liverpool get discussed for a week...

Because questioning the cheating oil-state run clubs would demand a brain and some morals, of wich they have none.
