I feel like he’s referencing something else as well. Behind the scenes organization, medical team

Still don't see how that explains games like the Villa game, where we were setup to lose so easily and nothing was done to mitigate how easily we were ripped apart constantly

Whatever it is, IMHO it is a distraction.

We cannot be allowed to underperform like that at the start of the season and sure i stood up for the big man earlier this season - but from xmas onwards - we weren't just bad, we were rudderless...... no amount of injuries make up for some of the absolutely shocking performances I saw this season. Ultimately, Ange is not savvy enough to manage a team properly through an injury crisis - clearly.

22 defeats numb nuts.

Just get on with your job for us.

Players are so thick.
VdV comes across as one of the least numb nuts/thick players around, nothing at all wrong with what he said there, perfectly respectful to the old boss and admits that results were unacceptable. And I don't think there's any doubt that he always gets on with his job for us. sounds like you didn't read the whole quote.

No, it's on the players too.

Some of their performances were absolutely shocking.

If they are trying to blame the owners for finishing 17th - that's just a completely wild accusation - I watched the last 10 games - we are 100% better than those performances.

OK, we finish 10th fine - bring the owners into it - but 17th with the kind of performances that made my eyes bleed - nah man - that is woefully below the level of this squad that finished 5th the season before.
Agreed. it's on Ange and the players. It's on Levy that we aren't in the top 3 or 4.

Agreed. Christmas was around when I went Ange-out also. Forest game

I really really wanted it to work with Ange. But anyone with a decent understanding of football could watch Spurs and see he was making obvious mistakes. Was very clear when at games in person, perhaps less so on television.

Whole management and squad had their focus solely on the Europa League. Them last 10 league games were just seen as a nuisance and players were not going in with the right mentality. Our top players were being saved and the starting players who were playing were minding themselves. Poor mentality? Maybe. Unacceptable? I guess. We definitely let standards slip with no consequences. But the gamble paid off so hard to complain now.

The league is so competitive now that if you are not going in close to 100% then you will not win many games. Look at Liverpool once the title was wrapped up, they couldn't win any of their last few games. Edge came off. Look at Woolwich around the Real Madrid and PSG games. They couldn't beat Brentford or Bournemouth at home. If your head is elsewhere and you are not 100% focused on the league then you don't win. Gone are the days where top teams can rotate heavily in the league and get away with it!

I read it.

Numb nuts.

Try and stay fit, do your job and don't be part of a team that loses 22 games. Nothing winning mentality about that.

That's my take on this matter.

Completely agree - the margins are so fine when you're at your best and most focused - as soon as that drops, you're mincemeat.

I agree though would also point out that Spurs were crap this season before Ange decided they'd focus on the EL. I also don't believe it re the other two cups. We wanted to do well in the FA and the CC (and did). Just got pumped and went out in each.

Only a distraction if Frank brings his own medical team and can fix the bts shit.

If not, he probably has similar problems and suffers a similar fate to every other manager we have.

Winning a trophy is an anomaly at this club.

"But what we’ve shown in the league competition is unacceptable. There would, of course, be multiple factors. It wouldn’t have just been the coach"

That is just a polite way of saying that Ange wasn't completely to blame for 17th, and there were injuries and awful player performances. It's not that deep.

He's not going to say "But what we’ve shown in the league competition is unacceptable. It was mostly on the coach, but a few players were putting in very bad performances, and I was injured so obviously they aren't going to win without me"

We went strong in all 3 cups this season. We even had a strong team out against Tamworth! Coventry was the only game we heavily rotated in and that was because we had a fit and healthy squad at the time. It had a massive negative impact in our league campaign and then we found ourselves heavily rotating for the final 10 league games when focus was elsewhere.

I'd be very suprised if Frank doesn't fully rotate in the cups this season and just accept going out of them early. Levy will make top 4 his primary goal and want our strongest available team playing in the league every week.

Hmm... bit of revionism there! Tamworth, Coventry, Rangers, Galatasary and maybe one or two others we rested various players. Not full rotation, but we played some crap. Didn't Werner start vs Tamworth?

Anyway, we actually have a bigger squad now (even more so with a couple more signings) and that was a factor that at times limited us last season.

Not suggesting this is your view, but some of here seem to be of the view that Ange could have got top 5 if he'd prioritised the league. The facts don't support that pov. We've been shite in the league even with strong teams for ages. Since early 2024 tbf.
